I believe you can get 2.9% financing now on the camry, and maybe even a $750 reabate if your credit is good. Check Toyotas website.

I don't know what the pricing difference is, but here in the midwest, Kelly Blue Book shows dealer retail to be around $14,800. Edmunds.com shows the true market value to be slightly over that for dealer retail, and around $15,900 if it is certified. This pricing included keyless entry and power drivers seat. I purchased a certified 2002 Camry LE V6 back in June '04. I negotiated the advertising fees. I ended up not paying them. You should be able to avoid it if they want to sell the car. Hope this helps.

Base XLE V6 + HX (XLE Navigation Package) + GU (VSC & Side Airbag Package) + HD (Heated Front Seats) + Destination Charge = $29,010.

Throw a few accessories, and that's how you would end up in the mid 29K MSRP.

Here is a page from Edmunds:

i emailed some local dealers for a quote and so far they are all a little bit over $17000. is this what i should expect in the ny/nj area for a 2005 base camry with manual trans?

thanks

I think you should be able to get a 2005 Standard with manual transmission for less than $17G. Check the Friday - Sunday papers and you might see something better. I got a 2004 Standard w/auto for $15,898 in NY and at that time a Standard w/manual was $1000 less. They probably haven't gone up that much.

you need to understand, that when you think a dealer is making too much money and you want to get a car for nothing, the salesman suffers. I do understand that there are some bad salesmen out there, but there are many honest hard working salesmen to. What do you think a salesman should make in a year?

Sorry - this isn't the discussion to debate what a salesperson should be making, etc.

We have plenty of discussions for that subject in our Smart Shopper message board.

Thanks!
