| While I haven't seen the monochromatic paint on the EB, I have on the Navigator. For $1100 you get the front facia, rear facia, and the wheel moldings painted in the same color as the body. Period. All in all something a local body shop could do for $300. On the Navigator anyway, they didn't even anodize any of the large amount of the chrome, black, nor do the side mouldings. I think they could have done a much better, more complete job if they wanted a classier, monochromatic look. (Just imagine how classy the roof rack would look if done in anodized black on a black body). | |

| I went to my local dealer yesterday and they claim to have seen a marketing slick on this option (they could not find it for me at the time) and it showed exterior changes on one side and interior changes on the other. The said the will email me the pic's. I can pretty much picture the monochrome option but I am mostly interested in seeing the wheels and headlights. If I get the pics I will post them. | |

customeyez, The marketing slick I saw had no (that I remember) interior shots. Does the interior have a monochromatic scheme too? I wonder if the leather is all one color on the premium edition. This would seem to command more of the sticker this option group is boasting. Although all they'd have to do is take the leather out of the XLT line to make this work. I saw pics of wheels (I could be wrong, but they looked like a 17" version of the F150 rims), headlamps (which looked like an Explorer with the dual cones), and closeups of the grill (painted to match the body), and a wide angle side shot to take it all in. I'm going to have to see more pics and I want to see it in person. My local dealership is getting one in. Apparently they ordered one some time ago. I asked them to let me know when it comes in. I'll take my digital cam and take pics when it arrives. That could be a number of weeks yet though. -TG |

TG, I went to the dealer and it sounds like I saw the same marketing info you did. It did not show any interior shots, the rims where not impressive, the monochrome bumpers, grill and cladding looked nice, and I could not tell the difference in the head lights over the standard EB. One other thing, it had a chrome tipped exhaust. My dealer told me they ordered one also, but I don't know when it will be in. I am waiting to see one before I order that option, if you get any pic's I would thankful if you could post them, I will do the same. |

| Just picked up our new 04 EB 4WD last weekend with regular gold cladding. Checked out one black EB with the Premium Package. Not worth the money. I'll tell you the truth -- it looks cheaper than the regular EB trim. Anyone who doesn't know this is a "premium" Expedition option will think it's a bottom-of-the-line model and think you couldn't afford the two-tone. IMHO. | |

Oh, sorry, this is the pricing board -- Our 2004 is the Eddie Bauer 4WD (5.4L 8 cyl 4A). It includes: Nav system, Rear entertainment DVD, AdvanceTrac, Climate controlled seats, Safety Canopy airbags, power 3rd seat, trailer tow pkg. MSRP is $49,085 incl delivery. We got it from Lithia Ford, Concord, CA with a total of $11,000 in "discounts", $7,000 dealer, $3,000 Ford cash, $1,000 Ford Motor Credit. They matched Diablo Ford in Pittsburg, CA which runs an ad each week for this deal on loaded EB models. Their deal applies to any EB with an MSRP of $48-50K. So you should currently expect $7k discount by the dealer, the $3k from Ford, and $1k if you're willing to go to the effort of refinancing since FMCC's rate isn't great. We took the FMCC loan only to get the $1,000 rebate. We are going to refinance the FMCC loan (6.2%) with our credit union after the first payment to get our CU's 4.25 loan rate. (Note that the FMCC loan is simple interest, no pre-payment penalty.) Anyway, I had the salesman from Diablo Ford call me while the deal was being inked but not yet signed; I would have just gone over there to get the same vehicle if there had been a problem. Theirs was a Wedgewood Blue. No reason to, as the sales service at Lithia was very good, everything was smooth, no pitch for extended warranty, just add sales tax and license. The dealerships are: Lithia Ford, Concord, CA, or call Diablo Ford in Pittsburg for the same deal. |

| When going to the AAA site to price out the 2004 EB 4WD I was unable to specify the Advance Trac and Air Suspension on the same order. DOes any one have both these options on their Expedition | |
| Glad you asked about this. I bought my '04 Expy in January and just started questioning the Advance Trac emblem on the back on the truck. I knew it was not listed as an option on my window sticker so I thought I had received an option that I didn't pay for(a freebie!). Since I have the Air Suspension and the Limited Slip I was curious. I called Ford and they looked it up, called the dealership, and then called me back. They said that the emblem was a factory mistake and that you CANNOT have the Air Suspension along with the Advance Trac. I called the service dept and the guy there said the same thing. I don't know why exactly, but he did say that if I bring it in for service, they would ignore the emblem and look for the air suspension system ( I asked about removing the emblem). He says that the system has to be turned off if the vehicle is gonna be on a lift of any kind or the air bags will explode. And that they were an expensive fix. I would recommend the Air Suspension option if you are gonna tow anything and its an option that you can't add later. It'll add to the value( I think). | |
