...another lurker appears. We bought a 2002 XLT at the end of November. As luck would have it, we were involved in a hit-and-run two days after we bought the Expedition. After a pretty good whack, we got out to see the damage. We had a very, very small dent in the bumper. The other driver left parts on the ground. Fortunately, eyewitnesses got the tag and all is well. It is nice to have a very sturdy vehicle!

I own a 1997 Ford Expedition XLT. Black with every option except the sunroof. I have the cd changer, leather, etc. It has tan interior. I have put on a chrome grille, blackouts, a new muffler, etc. I have put on 94K miles and it still runs like new. It has the 4.6 V8 engine.

Also own a 1998 F150 XL Flareside. Also black. It has the 4.2 V6 which is not as powerful. Minor mods so far as I have not had the truck for a long time. It so far has 37K miles. Hope to keep this one for a while.

For the past year, I have looked over this site as I considered buying an Expedition. Well I finally did it. Last week my wife and I bought a 2002 Eddie Bauer 2WD. It has the 4.6, and about every option except for heated seats. Today I dropped it off at the dealer (with 600 miles) because I get a large puff of blue smoke on cold start up in the mornings. I start hundreds of cars a year in my work, and I can't believe this is "normal". Anyone else see the same problem, and if so, has it been fixed? Thanks, everyone.

seems like it might be the oil burning. But come on at 600 miles. Something is definately wrong. Nice choice though. EB has lots of options to play with. Did you get the stereo with the Subwoofer in the back? I wish I had that.

MY HUSBAND JOE AND I BOUGHT THE 2003 EB EXPEDITION ON 10/29/02. I LOVE IT AND IT HAS ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES. WE HAVE HAD SOME MINOR PROBLEMS. I LOVE THE WAY IT LOOKS, FEELS, RIDES AND TOWS OUR BOAT. IT'S A GREAT CAR. HOPE IT SAYS THAT WAY.
