I am looking for a Canadian invoice price of
2002 Altima 3.5 SE w/manual and no options (ideally), as well as how much anyone paid for it.
MSRP vs. actual price before taxes (GST)

Well guys I am in the Memphis Tennessee area. I paid 26,500 for it. It had everything I asked for leather which is standard/options: wood tone trim, abs and air bag package, cold package, sunroof deflector and sunroof, pin striping (dealer accessory), wheel locks (dealer accessory), they added on a spoiler (dealer installed), micro filter the only thing I didn't get was xenon headlights. They had to dealer locate this one from 400 miles away and truck it here. With the manual labor of dealer accessories and locater cost. Plus they gave me $2,000 on my trade in of a 1995 Protege LX with 125,000 miles on it which was involved in a wreck but repaired I believe it's a good deal, since the other two dealerships only offered $1,200 and 1,500 for it. Plus the dealership were very nice people, something the others weren't. So I am happy with the price.

Why Buy Now? by tuoti

I need a wiser auto industry expert than I to help me sort out this issue I'm having. I would like to buy a 3.5 SE but given that there are no year-end incentives, why should I buy an '02 when the '03's are right around the corner? (not sure of an actual '03 launch date - anyone heard?)

I should be able to get about the same deal on the '03 as the '02 and Nissan will have had a year to fix the normal first model year hiccups and maybe even spiced up the interior a bit. Most importantly, the car will be worth a couple grand more in 3-4 years when I'm ready for something else because it will be a year younger. Am I missing something here? To sum up, due to the lack of year-end incentives, I believe it makes more $ sense to wait for the '03's than to spring for an '02 right now.

Will someone please enlighten me on where my logic is wrong? I'm not an expert in this industry so I'd like to learn. TIA

I agree with your logic 100%. I still am not seeing any deals on the 2002 altima, where the other vehicles I'm looking at are offering some serious rebates on the 02 models. The 03s may be $800 - 1,000 more when they first come out, but you are correct in noting the depreciation difference more than makes up that extra.

It looks like Nissan can take a stronger run at Camry / Accord with a nicer interior, radio tweaks , and engine hwy noise reduction. The Altima has everything else going for it.

Also, I wish I could tell you when the 03 will be at the dealerships : (

3.5 SE by jungroc

I bought a 3.5 SE on August 3rd in Philadelphia area.
5 speed manual transmission.
Black Leather interior.
6-CD 8 Bose Speakers.
Simulated Wood Trim.
Sun Roof with wind deflector.
Spoiler. Splash guard.

MSRP was 27,300. I traded in my old-ass 92 Infiniti Q45 for $1,500. And lots of discount.
With tax and tag, and $1,500 trade-in, I paid $25,200!!! I gotta admit that it was a floor model, that's why I got so much discount. I feel pretty sorry for guy who paid 26,500 for 2.5SL

Always know this, slash at least 3,000 dollars off of MSRP, then increase your price up from there.
