We got the deal of 18000 + tax(which added another 3000)= 21000 IN NJ. We didn't do financing. After reading the replies here I feel ripped, since our deal is for basic package.
He gave 2000 cash rebate and added tax on it, is Cash Rebate tax liable?? We just gave 500 token yet and have to get trade in, so can back out, please tell us if it is a good deal and if not, and does anyone have any suggestion in NJ area.

Since my Altima has a convenience plus package, I am not sure if your price is good. However, as a general suggestion, did you get quotes from at least 3-4 dealers over the Internet and then negotiate to the best offer you could get? This is most efficient and, from my experience, the best way to get a decent price. I always do better than walking into a dealership and dealing with a sales person on the spot.

No we didn't go to 2-3 dealers, we looked at internet and they had best deal, but in fine print they had two more incentives that we didn't get(NMAC and College discount each $500).
Since the cash back was over on Monday, we nogotiated for it. Did you get this price in NJ since in TTl we had to pay (desination handling fee of 750 + Registeration and title fee of 750)
And they added some security package (just some scrath off under backside door for 329:)
Thanks for reponding me, we can still backoff I think..

In CA, new 2010 2.5S go sale on the weekends for $16,888 plus TTL. That is the lowest I have seen on ad. The MSRP is $22,735. I would say use this as your benchmark and go from here. Personally, I wouldn't pay more then $16,888 plus TTL. Good Luck and keep us posted!
#2799 of 3489 Is my Offer Too Low?
Nov 03, 2010 (4:40 pm)
I'm looking at at a 2010 Altima 2.5SL (27,100 MSRP)
Alum Kick Plates
My Offer was $22,000 OTD,
Their Offer was $26,000 OTD.
Is my offer reasonable?
#2800 of 3489 2009 Altima 3.5 SL @ $20,844 with 13k miles
Nov 04, 2010 (7:09 pm)
I found this 09 Altima 3.5 SL with 13k miles, the dealer is asking for $20,844. I did some searching and found that for a similar year & trim, the dealer was asking for $22900, and it was a certified car. I tried negotiating the price with the dealer and he wouldn't reduce more than 500$ on it. Based on this experience, I am thinking of quoting anything between 18k-19k, do you think I stand a chance,
let me know,

I got an offer of 24477 for a 2010 3.5 SR with Prem. & Sports Pkg, 26k for a 2.5 seems way too high

I think that's a pretty close offer. If you are not in a competitive market, you may not get your offer. I'd make sure to check a few places. I had major price variations on cars (up to $1,800 on a 2.5s with MSPR of 23,070). The dealership I bought from new 5 years ago was the highest. Thought they'd give me the best deal since I had bought there before and had most of my service done there.
#2803 of 3489 What should I offer?
Nov 05, 2010 (2:40 pm)
I know you must get this a lot, but I'm looking at a 2011 Altima 3.5 SR with the Sport package and the Bluetooth (which I could take or leave, it's not important to me). With an msrp of $28,140, he offered $25,549 (with all available discounts incentives, and rebates (through an internet quote as special internet pricing) ), but I'm pretty sure I'll only get the $750 cash back so that brings it up to 26,299. My brother said I should offer 25k with floor mats and to say I'd pick it up on Monday. Do you think I should offer him 25k with floor mats or just go 25.5k with the floor mats and not push it? (I live in upstate New York if it matters).
So, what do you think, should i try for any more or let it go?
I'd appreciate any help you could give

I couldn't figure out how to edit my previous post, but I wanted to say to forget my questions, I've decided to go in a different direction for my next car (used - subaru (awd for upstate NY winters) )
