Looking to purchase a new Altima Coupe 2.5s CVT soon. Should I aim for $18,500 for the base model, or is that too high? Also, what would be a good deal for the 2.5s with the convenience package included?

Truecar.com has the convenience package listed at $20,500, and the base at $19,500 in my area - including the Nissan rebate.

I know this might not pertain to this thread but does anyone know if the altima's steering wheel controls illuminate at nighttime? A salesman told me only the 2.5SL and 3.5SL versions have illuminated steering wheel controls? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!!!

I just signed a lease contract for a 2009 Nissan Altima Sedean CVT 2.5, with Convenience Pacakge, and SL Package. Total amount to be paid in cash, came out to $4580.00, my monthly's are going to be $257, and I got 12,000 miles per year. This is a 36 month lease.

Can anyone tell me if this was a good deal? Or at the very least decent?

Thanks in Advance!

You made one mistake, you put put money down on a lease. You should have taken a higher monthly payment with only the first months payment due at signing.

Hey....thanks for responding. Well...that's the thing, from the begining, all I wanted was a lower monthly...in fact...that was my whole reason for going to the dealership. I was originally lured with a 'lease special' that stated $1999 down, and 159.99 a month. But this was supposedly offered through some other finance company and not Nissan. The other finance company had a whole list of ridiculous criteria that had to be met in order for me to get this price...it ultimately didn't prove worth it, so I ended up financing through Nissan, which offered this. I basically got baited and switched. The thing is though...when I went to Nissan's website, they advertised leasing for an Altima 2.5S with $2795 down, and $199/month

My breakdown basically looked like this:

Down-payment $2458 (First month,tax,destination charge)
Security Deposit $500
Taxes $801 (in NY you pay taxes on the entire lease up front)
Acquisition Fee $595
Lic./Title/Reg. $226
Total $4580.00
