I just bought an 09 2.5 SL sedan (leather, convenience) with Nismo package (all those skirts and spoilers) for 29.9 Canadian pre-tax and pre-fees (fees were 400 total). Seemed pretty good. The original price for the 2.5 SL was 27,600 before tax but I opted for the Nismo which is a couple grand upgrade but I like how it looks. I bought via the internet manager at Sherwood Park Nissan (Alberta) - so far the process has been quite pleasant. I take delivery Monday. |

First of all let me say that I have been leasing vechicles for 10 years. Previously, I had only leased Honda-Toyota. My last lease was for a 2006 altima. In all my previous leases for my wife, myself and my two kids... About 8-9 in total I have never had to pay an excess fee for wear and tear. Yes the cars get door dings.. But I had never been charged by Honda or Toyota. So,,,, I get my Altima checked out Today and guess what... they want $669 for door dings and a small scratch on the bumper. I have never been charged for the exact same things by Honda or Toyota. It may be the downturn in the auto industry... But what a rip off. And guess what... if you get another Nissan they will wave $500 of any previous excess wear and tear charges... So is this a sales gimick? or what? Either way I wont be held captive by Nissan. Will do my best to return the kick in the ass... Please beware of Nissans leasing policys... go with Toyota or Honda on similar models. I have found the cars are very similar... Will return car next week and post results. If they wave the fees I will buy an new Altima with all the new incentives. I have heard the sales figures for April were terrible on the Altima. But Beware of Nissan Leasing practices..

Does anyone know if Nissan recently increased their rebate from $1,500? Our local dealer's website states they will sell any altima at $2,500 under true invoice. I havent spoke with anyone at the dealership but that offer appears like a very good starting point, especially if the incentive remained at $1,500.
