I prefer mine when ripping up backroads, twists & turns, and highway driving. The IS350 is pretty damn smooth though. I love having a manual transmission in the RX8. Hers is an automatic, but it is smooth. No complaints-except for her annoying traction control system that is a pain in the neck to turn off. The 8's disengages with a push of a button. Hers definitely has more power. Off the line, both cars are close to about 30 mph, and then she pulls away. Her car has noticeable low end power. My 8 handles better, brakes better, and offers better resistance to body roll. I think mine looks better, and thats the reason why I drive it. Mine gets the driver more involved in the driving experience, and my wife agrees. It does not mean hers is boring. In fact hers is fun too. Its a matter of different tastes in styles of driving. Hers has much better trunk space, more rear leg room, better gas mileage, and a much better looking interior. She doesn't have to check her oil every third fill-up and she does not have to warm up her car before turning it off. Does this mean I favor her car? Not really. I do not mind the anoyances of the RX8 because the payoff is the huge rev line and awesome handling. My wife and I will go to our graves arguing which of our cars is better. |

Have any of you attempted to put a carseat (front facing) in the back of the RX8? It appears by the naked eye that it would not be a problem, but I wanted to hear that from an owner. Thanks.

Replying to: tslbmw (Apr 25, 2007 7:27 pm) I used one of those styrofoam filled cushions under neither the car seat to prevent dent's and marks on the back seat itself. The styrofoam cushion helped lock in position plus it covered the entire back seat so as to provided a nice barrier to food particles and toy parts from falling down into seats crevises. The car seat was installed for 9 months, until my son got to 8 years.

My commute to work is about 10 minutes, is that long enough for the car to "warm up." I understand this can be an issue and occassionally cause the car to not restart. Is this still the case with the '07's?
