I've done some searching to try and find an answer for this but nothing really answered it. I'm 6'4" and I was looking into getting an RX-8 to replace my truck. Does anyone know, from experience, if I am too tall for one?

My ex-Marine uncle is 6.4 and he got right into the driver seat with no problems. Of course he has a Mini-cooper that he loves to drive. If you get the sun roof however, all this advice goes out the window. |

Everyone jump onto iTunes and subscribe to the VOD podcast next week. These guy post awesome muscle, sports and super car video podcasts. Some of the stuff is really funny and some of it is really serious racing grit. But VOD's going to do a rotary engine podcast next week. Let's all jump on it. Let's show'm that rotor heads are still out here in large numbers!

I prefer mine when ripping up backroads, twists & turns, and highway driving. The IS350 is pretty damn smooth though. I love having a manual transmission in the RX8. Hers is an automatic, but it is smooth. No complaints-except for her annoying traction control system that is a pain in the neck to turn off. The 8's disengages with a push of a button. Hers definitely has more power. Off the line, both cars are close to about 30 mph, and then she pulls away. Her car has noticeable low end power. My 8 handles better, brakes better, and offers better resistance to body roll. I think mine looks better, and thats the reason why I drive it. Mine gets the driver more involved in the driving experience, and my wife agrees. It does not mean hers is boring. In fact hers is fun too. Its a matter of different tastes in styles of driving. Hers has much better trunk space, more rear leg room, better gas mileage, and a much better looking interior. She doesn't have to check her oil every third fill-up and she does not have to warm up her car before turning it off. Does this mean I favor her car? Not really. I do not mind the anoyances of the RX8 because the payoff is the huge rev line and awesome handling. My wife and I will go to our graves arguing which of our cars is better. |
