Make sure you replace, not just check, the fuses. Some times burned ones are very hard to see.

Great Bargain! by furyfan

I just received my RBU radio (used for 2002 thru 2006 to use wireless headphones with DVD and listen to CD/Radio over speakers) I bought over the holidays on ebay. It is in very nice shape and works great.

I bought it for my 2001 Caravan. I converted the harness to use the newer radio (2002 - 2006). I had already modified the radio/DVD harness to use a generic RF transmitter for the wireless headphones. But when this radio became available, I jumped at it. Many of you know that it is fairly difficult to find and tends to be pricey.

The kicker is that I got it for $24.99 plus $13 for shipping! Yup, $38 for a nice RBU radio!

"Usally with these cable, the power comes from the cigarette lighter socket. The power connector on the DVD cable will fit inline between the cigarette lighter power connector and the cigarette lighter socket itself. If this does not work, you can always cut and splice the 2 wires to the cigarette lighter wire like I had to do. Be sure that you splice to the correct lighter plug though. I had two, one that turns on and off with the key and the other that stays on all of the time. You want to tap into the lighter plug that turns on and off with the key.
Good luck.

Don't believe that is true. The power to the CD/DVD player needs to be unswitched power, otherwise it reboots itself every time you start the car (ask me how I know). Pin 1 or 7 (depending on year) of the CD/DVD player needs to be hot all the time (from factory service manual). Pin 11 is a signal from the radio that tells the player when the car is on or off.

DVD System for 2005 T & C Limited by wjohanson

Hello,
I just picked up a 2005 Chrysler T&G Limited. It has all options including sunroof ; except DVD screen. Can I buy a used screen and place where the digital climate control is. Is it pre-wired or will I have to buy a special harness?

Thank you,

Waldo

If you want a factory screen, there is a special kit for sunroof cars. For the non-sunroof cars, there is a new bracket that must be installed under the headliner. It is a bit of a pain to do.

The harness is not installed. You have to install it. My suggestion would be to find a correct factory kit that includes the brackets and cables.

Will this bracket fit in the hole the climate control switch was? I am also thinking of buying the seat-rest dvd players; what do you think of Invision brand and are they hard to install?

Thank you,

Waldo

For the factory 05 DVD screens, you do install the factory climate control in the screen. Don't know anything about the seat-rest systems.

I have a 08 Highlander and am research aftermarket overhead video.
I commute in and out of the pot-holed/bumpy streets of manhattan.

Looking for 10"+, all-in-one-unit, good skip-resistance, 1024*600

Any recommends?
