There was a strange humming coming from the front of the car when I pressed on the gas. I told the dealer and they tried it and said something was definitely wrong. In this car, I also had a constant rattle in the driver's door and a second one that was coming and going in the dash in front of the passenger. Everywhere they say the Spectra has a good fit & finish, so yes I was surprised. That first car had 27 km on it so brand new! The day after I brought this one back to dealer, I tried another midlevel EX manual this time. It was so new this one, the plastic was still on the seats! It had the same rattle in the driver's door. I could not believe it. I really don't know what to do. I may go for my second choice which was a 2006 Hyundai Elantra and I'm getting a good deal on it. If you think roads are bad in Michigan you would not believe the condition of the roads here in New Brunswick, Canada. The winters we have here....

If there doesn't appear to be a discussion for the issue or problem you have, feel free to create one. We can deal with accidental duplication of topics as things progress.   Note that the Spectra and Spectra5 are grouped together here, so one discussion for safety, mileage, engine issues, etc. will suffice.   Thanks for your understaning and help in making this group a great resource of information for Spectra/Spectra5 owners!
