#172 of 179 Intermittent Short in interior courtesy lights circuit by tennbob

Jun 01, 2007 (4:49 am)

I have a 2001 Aurora. I have been having a problem with the interior lights circuit blowing the 10 amp fuss under the back seat. Finally have gotten some relief by putting a ciruit breaker in place of the fuss. The light have not gone out since. The fuss used to blow every once in a while. Dealer and mechanic tried looking for a shorted wire but never have found anything. Any suggestions?

#173 of 179 A/C Problems by antiquediyer

Thanks to all of you for the great advice and tips on the repairs for the Auroras. My '98 Aurora is starting to be very expensive to own without a repair warranty (8 new injectors, Disk brake rotor problems, new radiator and now A/C problems).

My mechanic said that I have a minute leak in the A/C evaporator on my '98 Olds Aurora. Replacement of the evaporator and dryer will cost $700 with 8 hours labor for removal and replacement of the dash.

The interior of the car and the dash are in mint condition and I am concerned that the mechanic (non-GM) will break or damage the dash and or parts inside of the dash. How do I remove/replace the dash to save time on the labor costs for this repair?

Did you ever figure out what was going on with your oil pressure message? I have a 2001 3.5 and am having a problem with this "Oil Pressure Low" message coming on. The oil is clean, just had it changed. The oil level is correct and there is no knock or tapping noise. It appears to be running great. But, I keep geting that annoying message. Any thoughts?

I'm Dano. I have a dark green 95 with the sunroof and I LOVE to drive. I've always been an OLDS guy and my favorite was the '67 toronado (I've had 2).
It must have been late 1994 and I lived in Largo FL. I had recently finished restoring my driver, a 2 tone 79 Grand Prix with T tops, and was heading back to the shop from lunch one afternoon, when I pulled up next to this White, almost Pearl colored car at a stop light. I had never seen anything like it... because there WAS nothing like it. This was a sedan? I HATED sedans. How could this sporty, beautiful thing have foor doors? The curves, The wide stance, The wheels. And something about the tail lights reminded me of ... what was it? I searched for a Logo as I inched towards the intersection until I saw just this silver scribble on the front of this fluid sensuous hood. What IS that? This was about the most striking car I had ever seen. I loved the '66 Vette and '72 Citroen SM and my old Toronado from years past, but this car was NEW. Like Ice cream just starting to melt. I talked about it the rest of the day.
I don't remember when I found out that it was an Olds, but I remember thinking "I should have known". I think thats when I made the connection between the tail lights of the Aurora and my old 67 Toronado. The back ends were definately related. I laugh now thinking there was no way for me to know, poor as i was, that in 5 years I would own one..... 2 B continued.

hey i know that im replying to your post a few years to late since you have probably bought a new car or figured out the problem, but when it comes to auroras i know just about everything. now ive had multiple problem with the computer notifying me about certain things that have been puzzling. and well the computer sensors can be very faulty sometimes. so a new sensor for your oilpressure gauge may do the trick and fix your problem, thats usually what it ends up being.
