Congratulations on the purchase, zen2. The I4 would have given a bit more MPG, but I think you'll enjoy driving that powerful V6. It's nice to know, and feel, there's always power on tap when needed/wanted. Happy ownership!

My friend just last weekend bought a 06 Sonata LX V6 with leather and all except the sunroof for $17950(before fees). It took him about 3 months to get it this low, and the dealer is in Gurnee, IL. If anyone is around this location this is a great buy.

This is rather hard to believe since that is over $3.6K BELOW invoice. While I understand there are good deals and incentives around on Sonatas this is a tad over the top. I would love to know how this dealer stays in business....

Title fees seem to vary by dealer. Another dealer quoted me $229, but had a higher overall price and would not budge.
You know you're from Massachusetts when you drive 45 minutes to New Hampshire to save $5 in sales tax.

Maybe we're using different terminology. Most places have a dealer conveyence fee. Are you including that in the term "title fee?" In CT, unfortunately not far behind MA in taxes (& hidden taxes called something else), title fee is charged by the state ($20 or $25) to issue and maintain a title regardless of make or model of anything else. Title fee does not vary from dealer to dealer (unless they try to rip you off by charging an add on to process the title papers in addition to the other paper work they charge you for).
Focus on the bottom line. I bought my car in FL, paid $1500-1600, after taxes & all fees, less than local CT dealer wanted. Yet, FL dealer's conveyence fee was $80 higher. Same 6% sales tax.

Well, they don't sell every one for that low a price. But dealers, for whatever reason, sometimes do sell a car for many thousands below a normal price. I don't know why. Maybe to win a contest? between 55% and 75% of MSRP is doable on Hyundais and Kias with no trade and no dealer pacs.

I suppose. What gets me is when someone in these forums names the dealership so others can go there (many from another state which I find mind-boggling) so they can get the same "great" deal! Following that train of thought, the dealer would def go out of business giving all these great deals to folks who frequent edmunds.....

It's for buyers that currently own a Hyundai vehicle.

Go test drive a car. Talk with the salespeople. Be polite. Tell them you will buy it today if the price is right, but do not appear desperate for the car. Then offer whatever price you want to pay for the car. If each person who comes out tells you no, then go on to the next dealership.
Repeat.
Eventually you'll get lucky or tired enough to pay what they want.
