On a trip from SC to Tulsa OK a three weeks ago, a few 06 Sonata's passed us and my wife & I liked the looks so while in Tulsa I visited the dealer. All their Sonata's had an add on of $ 1,500.00 for "Market Adjustment. On my return to Columbia, SC I visited the local dealer and there it is again. This time it was $2,000.00 Market adjustment, plus paint treatment, fabric treatment, Window tint and Wheel locks (just under $1,000.00). First I will never pay a "Market Adjustment" and you are now in the Cam/Cord price range with similar equipment. This was really a turn off. Has anyone run into this "Market Adjustment"? Thanks

So offering a low ball offer is usally countered with the price you are looking for. You really need to consider checking out other Hyundai dealer websites like #1 Cochran in Pittsburgh. They will honor any written quote. |

| Can anyone recommend dealer in Kansas? I am interested in the Sonata and like everyone else looking for fair dealership. | |

Was looking at Hyundai's with my wife and daughter tonight ... looking for a car for daughter. Drove the following: '05 Elantra GT w/ auto & pkg 8 (sunroof + ABS/TC) '05 Tucson GLS V6 AWD '06 Sonata GL 2.4 w/ auto Daughter liked the Sonata best .. however, salesman told me that there is are very few Sonata 4 cylinders due to a strike in Korea. Any truth to that? They also had a GLS V6 w/ no options with an $18,8xx tag hanging from the mirror .. in looking at Edmunds TMV (which, BTW, doesn't show the extra $500 rebate), it seems available for $18,548 ($1000 rebate + $1000 HMFC incentive). Hard to believe that I'm considering a 235HP car for my 17 year old, but its only $1400 more than the 4 banger. Thoughts?

Replying to: michaell (Oct 28, 2005 6:43 pm) If it is indeed going to be your daughters car, I would recommend the 4cyl Sonata. It's got all the safety equipment out there, and we all know how young drivers have a tendency to be a little less than safe from time to time. Forget the airbags for a minute. Stability control will assure that there is a much lower possibility of needing the airbags. If you decide on the GL in the next 2 days, $16,500 if you finance w/HMFC should get it done for you. Its been a very slow month in the car business, and I'm certain that your dealer would love to get one more on the board this month. That should be about a net deal for them. |
