Replying to: tyguy (Oct 26, 2005 9:50 am) I'm already enjoying the Sonata. It's a great car...Hyundai really hit the nail on this one. As for the extra in the rebate, I called my dealership to see if there is anything they could do for this. Hopefully, they can compensate me in some way for this change, but I'm not going to be holding breath. |

| I just looked at their website and their prices for a base LX (no sunroof & no 6 disc changer) is $18,792 and for the Pkg. 3 LX is $20,070! That is about $5K off MSRP. I realize there are rebates out there, but these discounts are pretty unbelievable. What do you all think is going on?? Since they have been introduced, I've maybe seen a half dozen or so on the road. Is the car not selling well? At these prices, who cares about resale value? Is Hyundai concerned that the Sonata is not the big hit it was hoping for? I don't understand since, according to the NHTSA, it's one of safest cars on the road today. Thoughts please. Thanks! | |

On a trip from SC to Tulsa OK a three weeks ago, a few 06 Sonata's passed us and my wife & I liked the looks so while in Tulsa I visited the dealer. All their Sonata's had an add on of $ 1,500.00 for "Market Adjustment. On my return to Columbia, SC I visited the local dealer and there it is again. This time it was $2,000.00 Market adjustment, plus paint treatment, fabric treatment, Window tint and Wheel locks (just under $1,000.00). First I will never pay a "Market Adjustment" and you are now in the Cam/Cord price range with similar equipment. This was really a turn off. Has anyone run into this "Market Adjustment"? Thanks
