sudhaker, you are correct about the prices in texas being on the high side for a gls sonata.at the very minimum a 09 sonata gls with mats ect has a msrp of about 21,000.00-rebate of $3000.00 equals $18,000.00 and nobody pays msrp for a sonata which basically will loose half it's value when you drive it off the lot compared to a honda or toyota.

The price included dealer processing fees but not sales tax and title /license. I purchased the Sonata in Kansas and I live in Missouri, so other costs were paid in Missouri.

A reporter from a finance magazine is looking to speak to consumers who purchased a vehicle and ended up with some options by the dealer at little or no extra cost. Please send your daytime phone number and the vehicle you own to ctalatiedmunds.com by Tuesday, June 16, 2009.

$19,500 OTD? Whoa! I bought a V6 limited w/nav last Oct. Sticker was $28,300 + tax. I was happy with the $23,500 + tax (8.65%) I paid. But $19,500 OTD is amazing!

Based on your numbers a 4cyl GLS should be like $10k.

I'm not sure if you're interested in this deal but I just got an email from Northwest Freeway Huyndai in Houston that if you buy a Sonata at dealer's list price (around 19,900 mspr for a GLS auto) you'll get an Acent ($9,900 msrp) for $1. And you don't need to be a hyundai owner to get this deal. If you're interested, I can forward that email to you.

Also, have you tried Champion Hyundai here in Houston? I got a decent deal for a 2008 Santa Fe from them. They're willing to deal and don't add cr*p like vin etching, under body coating, etc. to the vehicle. I can forward the contact info if you need it.

Is this the strippo Accent trim w/o AC? In Houston? If so, I can imagine how many folks will jump on that deal. But it sounds good in an ad!

I haven't checked with the dealer but you're probably right. However, I hope that they're willing to make a deal. I can't imagine anyone in Houston would want a car without AC especially at this time when it's really hot out there (97F today). I don't even want to test drive a car without AC in this hot weather.

Call North Freeway Hyundai. I can't give a salesman"s name here, but his last name is a popular game fish. If you are ready to deal, this fellow will deal with you. Tell him John L sent you.

Adjusted Market Value by treetop28

Hi all,

I am planning to buy 2009 Sonata I4 Auto Limited. I have been to 2 different dealers but their prices are not even close to the TMV by Edmunds.com.

Seems like their prices include so-called "Adjusted Market Value" that is about $1,800 higher than MSRP. After $3,000 rebate ($27,579 dealer price, MSRP $25,800), they were offering me $22,000 + TTL.

Is this fair price? Anybody has any experience like this? By the way, I live in MA.
