Under $10,000 Sonata, I have read posts on this board about Hyundai dealers selling for 10,000 or below, can any one point me in the right direction. I want two for a taxi business; I will import myself into Canada. Warranty not important as will not cover Taxi use any way, any colour other then red or black, 4 cylinder auto paying cash. Looking for best deal for two.
Within 1000 miles Washington state preferred will pay a small finders fee $200 each if any one can set the deal up for me delivery anytime next 3 months, may consider used ay right price.

First, you won't find a new Sonata under $10k, and there have been no posts here about a new Sonata under $10k. It's pretty easy to find used Sonatas under $10k on the Web. For example, you can use the used car finder here at Edmunds.com or some other site like cars.com or vehix.com to search for Sonatas under $10,000 within 1000 miles of Washington state. As an example, I just did a search within 500 miles of Seattle (98101 zip) and found 70 Sonatas under $10k at cars.com. These included Sonatas in the 2006-8 years. These sites have photos and info on powertrain so it's easy to find a car that meets your requirements. Good luck.

wow... looks to me like you could've saved yourself a lot of angst with a little homework. Fact 1: Any new car - including Honda / Toyota, depreciates 10%-15% in value as soon as it is driven off the lot. Fact 2: Japanese cars hold their value better than Hyundais. This is well known, so please don't blame Hyundai for your lack of knowledge.

Also it seems you got shafted by a crooked dealer, but after some follow up, you got the 10-100 warranty you wanted.

So I'm really not sure what your point is here.

It's not that I didn't do my homework and yes the dealer was not honest. But I think the thing that makes it so dishonest is the way Hyundai territory manager treated me. Changing the date of the sale of the vehicle after the original owner purchased it in June of 2009 and then changing the Hyundai records to show I was the original owner in August of 2009 is crimininal. So I guess trusting a car company to do the right thing is beyond mine and your comprehension. Screw that I think everyone should buy one and experience the Hyundai feeling. I did and like I said before it will never happen again. My reason for telling my story is simple I wanted to advise the reader to be careful when they bought these pieces of crap. That the simple truth of the matter is if you buy a Hyundai you own it and don't look for Hyundai to do the right thing. As far as researching this vehicle I did. It was a cheap vehicle for my son who is in high school. At the time of purchase I couldn't buy a used car for the price I gave for this. New tires new motor warranty. Screwed blued and tattooed. So from me to you I hope you don't have any problems with one. I have a friend who has a 2007 they shipped the seat back to California from the Midwest to have the airbag sensor replaced. His car was left outside the dealership why this took place. Hailstorm comes through and $2,500.00 damage the dealer said sorry and Hyundai said sorry that happened. Otherwise the car would have been inside his garage. They paid for the sensor but it cost him dearly. Save yourself and buy a Honda.

Congratulations on your Sonata. Because we've owned 3 Elantras, with a total of 200,000 miles and only two repairs that I ever had to pay for, I decided to get a Sonata, since it has all the features I would want in an entry-level lux car.

So this evening I'm scheduled to pick up an '09 Limited I-4, black / cocoa, with navigation, for $21,699 out the door. That seems to be a good deal in the Atlanta area. And they're extending the powertrain warranty to 20 / 200,000, and you can get the maintenance done anywhere, not just atthe dealer.

Just bought a Sonata by james1982

I just bought a Sonata on 4/11/2009 and wanted to share my experiences. I paid $14,500 (dealer sticker price was $21,195) for a brand new 2009 Sonata GLS 2.4 4cyl 5speed. I love it. I bought it from Pearson Hyundai in Richmond, VA. It's Slate Blue with the gray interior.

The first thing that stands out to me is the great gas mileage I get! The car is fun to drive and the 4cyl 2.4 engine has plenty of zip to get around town or merge onto the interstate.

I drove a lot of other mid-size sedans while shopping, and I have to say that the Sonata is hands down the best deal for the money.

What I like:

The aggressive looking front end, very stylish exterior, interior room, fantasitc gas mileage, instrument panel, ride comfort, and the trunk is bigger than my first apartment (seriously, that trunk is massive).

What I don't like:

I found that I'm hard-pressed to find something wrong with the car, but I wanted to put something here. So, here are my (admittedly very picky) issues with the car. The passenger side sun visor does not come with the extention like the driver's side, the engine can be a little bit loud at high RPM in low gears, and...uh...that's really it.

I have to say, I am extremely happy and pleased with the '09 Sonata, and would recomend it to anyone!

congratulations on the new Sonata. Is 14,500 out of the door price you paid? If so, that is terrific!

That $14,500 is a great price.

However, the dealer sticker of $21,195 is $1800 higher than MSRP for a Sonata GLS stick shift, unless you have every option available. which would still be less than dealer sticker. The dealer sticker probably included dealer add-ons, such as window etching, pin stripes, fabric protectors, etc.

MSRP, including destination, is $19,395 and invoice is $18,617 (without options), so you still got a great deal.

Hope yours treats you as well as my '05 and my brother's '07 have treated us.

Well... he didn't say he bought a stick shift Sonata. He said he bought a "5 speed" Sonata. For 2009, all Sonatas sold in the U.S. are "5 speed." Would be nice to know if it's a stick or automatic.

It's a stick shift.

The $14,500 price I got included things like window etching, floor mats, fabric protection (glorified Scotch Guard), mud guards, cargo net, iPod cable, and the Blu-Tooth hook up (which I'll never use), but, of course, did not include tax, title, tags, and destination charge.

I'm sure others buying a similar '09 Sonata have gotten a better deal (a quick cruise through the forums here has confirmed that), but for a 26 year old buying his first "brand new" car, I think I made out pretty well, and came in under my budget.

Again, for those reading this thread looking for owner reviews, please do yourself a favor and at least test drive the 2009 Sonata! Talk about "bang for your buck!" This car will suprise you (and your wallet).
