We are thinking of getting a 2009 Sonata Limited 4 cyl., but I was reading they have a new aluminum engine this year. In the past alum. engines were prone to warping and oil leaking. Replying to: tomval (Nov 05, 2008 10:20 pm) The 2.4L and 3.3L engines for the Sonata were introduced in late 2004 in the home market and early 2005 in the U.S. They were tweaked for the 2009 MY for better power and fuel economy. They have been around for several years.

Velocity of money is important, too. Of course we will often sell a car based on earning your service business as well. And sometimes we take deals so we can pay our sales people and keep them employed.   Yes, if we sell enough to hit our targets there can be money that comes back to the dealer, but it is much less than we give away to earn your business, and not nearly enough to put up with the people who always think we are lying and not showing the "real" invoice. That attitude is indicative of a very unhappy individual with whom I would rather not deal, and certainly not the basis of a long term relationship.

I'm seriously considering the purchase of a new Sonata, and I've researched the daylights out of it. Most of the news is good, but I keep running across those who denigrate the suspension and lack of road feel, along with those who swear the mpg is not nearly what the sticker indicates. I'm looking at the 4 cyl. LTD and SE. I would really appreciate any feedback, advice, etc. from those of you who have purchased the 2009 Sonata! Thanks Much!! Replying to: plabypla (Nov 06, 2008 4:58 pm) We purchased an 09 Sonata Ltd 4cyl this summer. It's my wife's car and she drives it daily. I get to drive it occasionally. We live in south-central PA and our roads have to rank up there with some of the worst you will find (potholes, frost heaves, uneven surfaces, etc, etc). As far as my wife and I are concerned this Sonata drives fine, rides smooth, and is very much worth it. We bought it out of state (Fairfax Hyundai) and the trip home returned almost 32 MPG before it was even broken in. As far as now, we are in the low 20's since my wife's drive to work is only a few miles and her other driving is to her mother's and the shopping centers about 10 miles one way in mixed mode traffic. Overall, we are satisfied.

I have an offer of $20,535 for a new, Sonata, 4cyl. Limited (wood grain, sun roof), including all rebates and fees. TTL would add about $1600. That means OTD price is $22,135. Is that a good deal?
