If the MSRP for the vehicle you got was $26,125, I believe that vehicle was probably from before the price increases by Hyundai. That's why the invoice that Edmunds is showing you is different than what you might see on these forums.

The window sticker showed a MSRP of $19500 of just the car. Wonder what that is?
Because the manufacurer's MSRP is $19900 for the GLS PZEV 5A, no? While the GLS manual transmission MSRP is $18700. So wonder where the dealer got the 19500 from. Any ideas?

Oops. Looks like I more -- hopefully it is a fair price.

When and where did you get this deal - in and around Jersey City NJ? with 7% tax?
Was it Manual Transmission or Auto ?

And was it a demo car or new car?

Can I ask where in RI you got that price? I'm looking to buy the same car in the RI/SE Mass area myself.

2009 Sonata - New Aluminum Engine by tomval

We are thinking of getting a 2009 Sonata Limited 4 cyl., but I was reading they have a new aluminum engine this year. In the past alum. engines were prone to warping and oil leaking. Does anyone know if that issue was ever resolved or is it something to prevent purchase?

The 2.4L and 3.3L engines for the Sonata were introduced in late 2004 in the home market and early 2005 in the U.S. They were tweaked for the 2009 MY for better power and fuel economy. They have been around for several years.

Sometimes dealers take deals that are unprofitable on their face, in order to maintain an orderly business and improve cash flow. Velocity of money is important, too. Of course we will often sell a car based on earning your service business as well. And sometimes we take deals so we can pay our sales people and keep them employed.

Yes, if we sell enough to hit our targets there can be money that comes back to the dealer, but it is much less than we give away to earn your business, and not nearly enough to put up with the people who always think we are lying and not showing the "real" invoice. That attitude is indicative of a very unhappy individual with whom I would rather not deal, and certainly not the basis of a long term relationship.
