I'll drive to Decatur if I could get a '09 GLS I4 Auto with Popular package for $16.5 or even $17. The New Orleans area dealers want $18,500. Only found much lower quotes from World in N. Illinois, Towne in NJ, and Fitz in Tampa. Cannot justify putting +1,000 miles on new car + all the other expense.

Check out my message 4681 on getting competitive bids end of month. Towards summer the Mazda 6 08 value edition frequently is down to 16000 or less. Perhaps a 08 Malibu 20000 msrp for 18000 or less. Not a great price on the Malibu but just offering alternatives if bids on the Sonata don't show up in the 16's.

Good luck

2008 Sonata Limited V6 with Sunroof and cargo + floor mats comes out to $20,100.00 + TTL (~$1,450 with 6.25% state tax). Anyone got better than this? Thanks.

Eh? Can't you just import, it seems quite legal to do so.

Prices coming down by backy

Good news for 2009 Sonata shoppers... looks like prices are coming down, at least for dealers short on 2008s. For example, I noticed the current Internet price at Towne Hyundai is now $2050 under invoice on 2009 Sonatas, before rebates ($1500 general, $500 loyalty). So a base GLS automatic would be $15,682 ($15,182 for Hyundai owners) before TT&L.

I also noticed Edmunds.com still has the TMV of the 2009 Sonata at sticker, before rebates. That doesn't reflect real-world pricing, so I'm not sure where Edmunds is getting their data. In my area (Twin Cities), advertised prices on 2009 Sonatas start at $16k, which is well below sticker before rebates. And that's without any negotiating.

Questioned Advertising by hickoryc

Patrick Hyundai, Schaumburg IL sent bulk email on the 16th, "0% APR on ALL NEW HYUNDAI". It would be interesting to hear from any readers of this forum who got that deal. Thirty minutes later, North Hyundai, Houston sent a similar bulk message with the phrase, "...right now Hyundai is offering 0% on the Sonata."
I called North. The internet manager replied that he thought it applied only to 2008 models, that his associate sent the email, and that he had 33 new messages in his inbox. He did not call back.

Prices and dates by hickoryc

$18,500 for '09 GLS with Package 3 (Popular Pkg + Sun Roof), mats, & mud flaps installed. A local (New Orleans area) dealer has orally agreed to this price, at least with Package 3. Towne in New Jersey is still quoting $1,000 lower. As the month progresses, the deals appear to be getting better.

There seems to be a price war going on between Towne and Stateline. Stateline is now at $2100 below invoice on all 2009 Sonatas on their website which is $50 below Towne's price. Plus, of course the $1500 consumer rebate and the $500 loyalty rebate.

You guys are making me sad about only getting around $1300 under invoice! Of course that's in california, and I haven't really heard about insane deals from this state.
