bhmr, backy, howard, and all,...thanks for all the advice.

ive given up on the 0 percent and rebate together...figured it was worth a try....

been offered 16,950 OTD for a base GLS from Towne. Now the fun stuff comes. I really hoped to get lower than that, around the 16400 mentioned earlier. It doesnt seem like much of a difference from your deal, but yours was an 07 (Id love the SE extra lumbar support is all )

Anyone know what the cost of a sonata 08 truly is for the dealer?

Dunbar1, what options included in the $16,950 OTD? It sounds high for the GLS model for me.

None, and my thoughts exactly.

FitzMall is 16400 with taxes, BUT no licensing/title/registration yet. The DMV website says 80 for registration and 40 for title, couldnt find anything for registration. I figure that has to be low though, processing fee or something?(16650 OTD basically).

Towne 16950. That was their first offer. Im going to ask for lower.

You can get a better deal than that.....

Seems too good, where are you guys located? I think if people can post their locations with the deals, it might allow for more realistic comparisons. I dont see any of these deals in the Seattle area. I have always found cars more expensive here in Seattle compared to the rest of the country. Wondering why

You can see the difference between seattle and houston, maybe i am not comparing the same package, but is about $1000 difference.

By the way, i am in Houston

Backy, bhmr, howard seem to know a lot more than this little guy BUT

Id guess it has something to do witht he massive amount of buyers in the area and there being a few wholesale places that supply that demand.

Some So.Cal people raved about gettting amazing deals there....and that region also fits the bill.

Chicago area quote by southhavenjen

Here is the deal I was quoted for a Sonata. This is in the Chicago area.

GLS, 4 cyl. automatic w/ popular equipment pkg, floormats, cargo tray: $16,141 (roughly $17,500 OTD)

Limited 4 cyl. automatic w/ sunroof, floormats, cargo net $19,288 (roughly $20,900 OTD)

OTD prices are rough because she quoted me prices using 9% sales tax and as Michigan residents, we only have to pay 6%. So I recalculated myself the best I could using 6% tax.

These prices seem to be about $850 below invoice.

Thoughts?
