Unless they offer nearly $6000 off list on all their other Sonatas? |

IF your sales tax is 7%, that would bring the price to $17,931 + 189 + 200 =$18,320. Deduct $2K rebate and you're OTD for $16,320 +/- a couple bucks. Check Townhyundai.com and click on internet specials. The same formula applies to all trim levels and any options. If they don't have the exact car you want they will attempt a dealer swap to get you what you want. I wish I could tell you the salesman's name, maybe you could ask for someone familiar with sales to people in CT when you call. They may very well be open tomorrow, they were open the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend last year.

Replying to: bhmr59 (Feb 16, 2008 7:29 pm) car buying is such a joy 16400 OTD, 18400 OTD......I've been looking at pluses and minuses of each for frigging 2 hours now...........If they'd come down just a little I'd be golden. PS Is it just me, or is this overall a pretty darn good new car deal regardless of whether or not I can get them to come down a little more-even with how much Hyundai's depreciate?. I looked at the Honda Fit, but your looking at a Fit costing a 1000 more than this....???

Maybe not the best deal but a deal that should prevent you from regretting the purchase. Back on topic, when I bought my 08 Sonata Limited V6, I had researched cars for months. We wanted to buy something in the larger midsize class. I test drove many cars, even some smaller SUV's. I wanted a V6, my wife wanted leather and heated seats. So basically the top trim level, whatever vehicle we decide on. I liked the new 08 Accord V6, and even though I got offers 300 below invoice it was still 26K for a V6 EX-L w/ no nav. Also considered Toyota RAV4, but Limited trim w/ leather pushed it to 28K (and that's at invoice price not MSRP). Liked the Aura too, but still around 25K (not much haggling with Saturn). I've always liked Sonatas, so I came back to checking out Hyundai again. Fitzmall had 08 Limited V6 w/ sunroof and mats and cargo net for $20,661.00 plus TTL. That's $5,219.00 off the MSRP of $25,880. I was sold. We intend to keep this car a long time. But even with the depriciation, what can you get for a little over $20K these days loaded in the midsize segment? I considered this a lot of car for the the money I paid for it. Towne Hyundai may have slighly lower prices but I was flying out from Ohio to Fitzmall and my ticket to D.C. was $68.00 as opposed to flying to Towne H. for around $300.00. Towne's proc. fee is higher too. And less distance driving home too. Anyway, I am happy with the deal I got. Could it have been even better? I'm sure it could. Like I said there is always someone who says he got a much better deal than you did. (However, I have doubts about certain claims I've heard that state that a brand new 08 Sonata Limited V6 could have been had for 18.5K out the door. And that supposedly was couple months ago, way before the 09s were announced to come out early). In my state (OH) that would mean that the before taxes selling price would have to be $17K. I highly doubt that could be done on a new car with an MSRP of 25-26K)
