2007 GLS + Premium Package by dhilip

Hi All,

After much research (in Edmunds.com!), I have decided upon a 2007 Sonata GLS with Premium Package. I'm in Levittown, PA and the prices I have got so far are:

Mccafferty Hyundai - 17,100 OTD
Brad Benson Hyundai - 16800 OTD
Towne Hyundai - 16600 OTD

Towne Hyundai seems to be offering the cheapest prices but they are 80 miles away from my home. If I buy from Towne Hyundai, I cannot go there everytime for servicing my car and I have to get the car serviced with a nearby dealership which is Mccafferty or Burlington City Hyundai.

Do you think this is a OTD good price for GLS + PP? Please note that this includes Tax & tags.

Will other dealerships accept servicing a car that they did not sell? I know that they "technically" have to service the car, but will I get the same levels of service as a person who bought the car from them? For e.g., I'd like to buy the car from Towne Hyundai and get it serviced by Mccafferty right from the first scheduled service. This might seem a strange question, but I'm new to the United States and though I have been able to arm myself with extensive knowledge on car buying thanks to Edmunds, I'm stumped on this one.

Thanks in advance for answering!!

Certainly. I have had many vehicles, including two Hyundais, serviced at dealerships other than the ones from which I purchased/leased the car. One thing you won't get from another dealer is any special service arrangement which new-car buyers get. For instance, the Hyundai dealer closest to me offers free oil changes for life plus a few other perks to people who buy a new car there. So I don't get those perks. But this dealer did honor maintenance coupons (for free oil changes and other discounts) that I negotiated for when I bought my current Hyundai from another dealer. And their service has been much better than the service at the selling dealer.

Thanks Backy,

Do you think the prices are ok, especially the one from Towne Hyundai?

dhilip, if you're not sure if it's a good price, just check the invoice price listed here on Edmunds for the trim line and options you want. Then subtract $3900 from that invoice price to see what Town will charge you. Of course you'll have to add $189 doc fee plus tax & registration.

You should also confirm the deal over the phone. They stand by what they say, no last minute surprises.

It's up to you to determine if the price is "OK." Where else are you going to buy "the same car" for $3900 under INVOICE? In your internet search be sure to differentiate between car with or without XM. There's about a $300 retail price difference, something like $250 invoice price difference.

Thanks bhmr59,

I do know that there is a $300 difference in MSRP for the ones with XM. As you said, I did the math taking the average invoice price listed on Edmunds and the OTD comes to 16400. Will speak to Towne tomorrow and see what they have to say. Even otherwise I guess Towne Hyundai is the place to go. Good to know that they stand by their prices.

Hi:

I paid 16K for a GLS Automatic 4 cylinder with moonroof option. Dont know if it was a good buy. I thought it was but now not sure since I messed up about the rebate. I bought a Santa Fe, GLS basic edition also for 20,250. In my calculation, I forgot that the rebate for sonata was 2000 instead of the 1000 as for the santa fe. Also forgot the hyundai owner rebate. This purchase was from Ohio.

So total for 07 sonata gls with moonroof and 07 santa fe gls without moonroof 38,250. Cash paid.

On the bright side, you got 2 very nice vehicles for 38K. That's almost like 2 for the price of 1.

$2000 Sonata Rebate by amp06

This is a question regarding the $2000 rebate on new 2007 Sonatas (May 16 - May 31). Does anyone know if you have to finance through HMFC to get the rebate?

I'm just looking for the rebate, not any rebate+APR deals.

Thanks.
