The price I was quoted on 9/22/06 for a 2007 Sonata Limited in Steel Gray without the Ulimate Package (i.e. no options) was $20,465, less the $1,500 rebate and less the Loyalty rebate (since I'm an existing Hyundai owner) of $500 for a total before TTL of $18,465. This is from their internet sales department. Due to Edmunds.com rules, I can't give you the salesman's name.

The dealer is Pugi Hyundai/Mazda/VW in Downers Grove, IL. I had an absolutely wonderful experience buying our 2006 Elantra GLS sedan from them in December 2005 as a Christmas present for my wife, and I plan to return to buy a Sonata Limited from them before the end of the year. Simply put, they're good people, and treated me very well.

Do a web search for Pugi Hyundai, and send them an e-mail and ask for a quote.

Why not try to get a "better" deal now that you know what one buyer paid?

We're going on vacation, out-of-state for two weeks and my husband doesn't want to be rushed into a decision,so when we get back we can take our time, research more cars and more dealerships. This is a very good forum for feedback and info. All of you do a very good job,I've learned so much in the past two days.Thanx for your reply Jack47.I'll let you know what car we picked if any, this year.

Western PA area bought back in August

21,900 before TTL

1314.00 TAX

Title/License/Doc fees were around $100-$150 altogether.

No Trade

Also opted for 10yr./100k bumper to bumper warranty which came out to an additional $900 all said and done

Somewhere around 24,500 OTD for both car and warranty.

I was thinking about not getting the extended warranty, but the piece of mind is nice, and he just got lucky w/ his sales example of power window motor repairs (yeah, I've had back luck on those in the past).

All in all I could have done a little better I'm sure. Someone is always going to get a better deal. But the above price was offered to me right out of the gate w/ no game playing and/or hidden fees and other types of sales trickery. Not to mention the let me do whatever on my test drive. I appreciated this, and felt the no B.S. offer was honestly a fair price.

This is in comparison to another local dealer, which after playing games w/ the way he worded questions about what I wanted to pay(sale price vs. how much over invoice), came with an original offer of $1600 more than what I paid. Once I told him I got a better deal, all of the sudden he could do better. But his poor attitude at this point cost him a sale. He literally scalded me on the phone for finding a better deal! Not to mention I was sorta handcuffed for my test drive. Pretty much got to make a citcle in the parking lot and come back. Also tried to sell both the extended bumper to bumper and paint protection plans as only one, gave me the impression this was the only choice I had. Only until I went to the second dealer did I find out these were actually 2 seperate plans.
