| That is basicly how mine works, except when I turn it off the TCS light comes on, not the TCS Off light. I'm not sure if that is the right light. | |
| All four shocks were replaced at 50K on my '99 Sonata, with Hyundai parts. My front struts are leaking again, at 58K. Anyone had that kind of problem? I will have the dealer replace them again, on warranty, but I am considering offering to pay the extra cost for another brand parts. Any brand suggestions? | |
| I have a 2000 Sonata with the silver paint. I have just noticed that the paint on the plastic wheel covers and on the plastic door guards is flaking off. I have not spoken to the dealer, but I think the warranty for appearance items is only 1 year. I only have about 22K on the car. Any suggestions or similar problems/solutions? | |

| currently awaiting trip to dealer for 30000 mile checkup. will have side airbag recall work done, also. only real problem is passenger side window. it won't go completely up - livable...until i forget to put window lock on and someone opens that window. then i can't get it back up unless i park the car and grab the little bit of glass sticking up out of the door. what a workout. first it comes out a little. you let go and it 'turtles' itself back into its shell! hey, i might as well joke about it. i finally did manage to get the window out of its shell & 'all the way (as far as it would go) back up.' i do hear some clicking and rubbing sounds. as long as we have drought condiditions i'll be good until i get to dealers on wednesday. | |

My 2000 Sonata GL's Front passenger door window's regulator burned out last week. (Driver's door went about 2 months ago). Dealer is out of the regulator's apparently their blowing out like birthday candle's. He has a back order in for 40 and that doesn't cover the # of cars already waiting for a fix. My appt. is Sept. 4 (if they get em in.) So make sure you call your dealer to make sure they have the regulator in stock before you have to make 2 trips. |

| denp3: Your TCS light should not come on when you push the TCS OFF button, the TCS OFF light should come on. I also have a 2002 Sonata with the same problem that you have. The first time that I took it in, the dealer did not do anything, except push the button and said it was working. Now it has been in the shop for about 2 months. They have ordered and installed 4 different instrument clusters. Now they think it is the ABS module, and are trying to get a replacement part. I may know more next week. | |
| I talked to the dealer and Hyundai Customer Service and they both say it is working correctly. Apparently there are 2 different styles. The dealer had one that would light up TCS OFF, another dealer they contacted had 3 that worked like mine. The dash switches are different. Mine says only TCS OFF and the other style says TCS OFF/ON. The TCS does work correctly when on slippery pavement, it blinks like it should. The TCS defaults to on. I don't usually turn it off anyway. Let me know the outcome on yours. Yours may be working correctly if I was given the right info. What does your switch say? | |

I've got a 2000 GLS with 42,000 miles on it. For about a year or so now we noticed a "whirrring" noise, kind of hard to describe. I had one friend say it sounded like a turbine. The noise was not horribly loud, but was present and sounded like it was coming from somewhere near the back of the car. My wife and I kept forgetting to mention it whenever we took the car to the dealership for an oil change (dealership is only a buck or two more than Jiffy Lube), but finally mentioned it when we took the car in for the airbag light recall. The dealership guys instantly recognized it as a noisy fuel pump and ordered a new one. It is being replaced under warranty. Once again I am impressed with Zimbrick Hyundai in Madison, Wisconsin. Their service department is top notch. |

Hi Everyone, I have a 2001 Sonata with a problem that is puzzling the dealership. I am hoping someone else has had this problem too. Last week I drove to the grocery store with no problem. When I came out and tried to start the vehicle, I could not. There was power to everything (windows, radio, etc). But when you turn the key, absolutely no sound emitted. It was just dead. It was like the car wasn't in park or something. I took it out of park and put it back in. Nothing. I put it in Neutral. Nothing. Called Hyundia Road Side Ass.- they hauled it off to the nearest dealer. Two days later, I got it back with a new starter. No problem, right? Wrong. 24 hours later, it wouldn't start again. Once again, I call HRSA. They haul it off to the nearest Dealer (not the same one that had it earlier). This dealer was, however, the one that sold it to me. Well the car got towed there after closing on a Saturday. So no one even got to look at it until Monday morning. However, the dealership was soo busy that they didn't get to pull it into a bay until Tuesday afternoon. By that time, the tech went out to the car, started it just fine and pulled it in. Now the dealership says "There's nothing wrong with it." Help!!! This car is becoming very unreliable. If anyone has had this problem please let me know. Thank you |
