I have a 2002 Sonata GLS V6 that starts hard after I put gas in it. At first when it is turned over it will not start at all then it will try to start but die. If apply just a bit of pressure on the gas pedal it will at first have a hard time gaining RPMs but then it will run at faster than Idle RPMs. After about 45 seconds it will run fine. This does not happen every time I start the car only when I put fuel in it. If I simply remove the gas cap this does not happen but even if I put just a few gallons of fuel in it, it will. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? thanks

| My 2007 Sonata has less than 8500 miles on it and is kept in my garage. I recently brought it in for normal service. I have had no problems with the Air Conditioner yet the dealer says I need A/C service, induction service. Wants to change the filter and I don't know what else.........to the tune of over a couple of hundred $$$$ How can this be? What do I look for? | |

I do not know why that would matter to the car put that appears to be the only difference between taking off the gas cap and putting a little gas in. You could just put the nozzle in and see what happens. |
