Replying to: felixbrien (May 13, 2009 12:25 pm) It's higher than I've seen before from Hyundai dealerships, but I've seen diagnosis fees in the $80-85 range (Midwest). Did they also tell you they will waive the fee if they find the problem is warranty-related, or will deduct it from the repair bill if you pay for the repair? That is common practice.

On the Hyundai website, they say:   - COOLANT: FOR THE FIRST TIME, REPLACE THE COOLANT AT 60,000 MILES (96,000 KM) OR 60 MONTHS, AFTER THAT, REPLACE IT EVEY 30,000 MILES (48,000) OR 24 MONTHS.   Nothin about "Transmission flush service", but Ill wait 60K.   What is T/U? Replying to: 59er (May 14, 2009 10:42 am) OEM for fluids means Hyundai has specific requirements for oil, coolant, brake fluid, and... MOST IMPORTANT: automatic transmission fluid. Hyundai uses a specific kind of transmission fluid (can't think offhand of the type) and you can ruin the transmission by using a different type. I have seen posts in Town Hall from owners who have done just that to their Hyundais.   The requirements are laid out in the owner's manual. Be sure if you do-it-yourself or use a non-dealer mechanic that you make sure the proper fluids are used.
