Replying to: jpryba (May 31, 2008 6:35 pm) from before... I have an 06 Sonata GLS (4 cylinder, automatic) with a little over 41,000 miles on it. I've noticed as of late that my brake pedal can get a bit firm occasionally when stopping, and it has happened at both high and low speeds (and not always with a panic stop). I can duplicate it to an extent by accelerating a little and then going for the brakes. The brake pedal will get firm for just a split second and then it'll feel more like normal immediately after. I don't recall ever having this sort of issue in the past. I'm still on my original pads and rotors and have had the dealer inspect, clean, and adjust the brake system every year. However, my dealer did replace the master cylinder recently because it was making an awful creaking noise when braking. Any thoughts as to what might be happening? I'm going to have the dealer look at it Monday afternoon (make that Saturday morning) and figured I would ask about it here beforehand to see if anyone else can shed any light on this.

Replying to: xmercuri (Dec 19, 2007 1:03 pm) For the longest time I just thought I was crazy, but no, it really happens. I haven't taken it to the dealer about it, but after reading your story about it happening while you were away and draining the battery, I guess I should get it taken care of.

I have a 2001 Sonata GLS V- with 120,000 miles. I am trying to determine why it does not start. No codes reccorded !!! I had it towed to my service garage and the next day it started??? Possibility -- Fuel Pump. Needless to say, I am not having the gas tank removed until I can "prove" that the pump is the problem. Has anyone had a similar problem, which turned out to be the fuel pump? Please pass along any info which may be helpful in troubleshooting my problem. Thanks, Tom

Hi, My speedometer and odometer stopped working. The odometer still displays the milelage at the point that it stopped. Does this sound like a speed sensor problem, or something else? How easy is it for a novice (it's my son's first car) to find and replace the sensor, if that's the problem. Specific advice as to the sensor's location and how to reach it is appreciated. Thank you.
