I'm gonna guess that the water spots are from "lot rot". A film that is on the windshield that will appear now and then due from all the different chemicals used in the plastics of the car. It will eventually go away after a few times wiping in away and reappearing. I used an ammonia based window spray on cleaner. You should be able to find it in most automotive supply stores. I had the same problem on my '06 in the beginning, but now it's fine (ahd the car a year now).

How did a new car end up with warped rotors/disc?? I think that's unusual. Unless, your car had XX miles on it already (test car, car drove to you from another dealer) and the person(s) driving was hard on the brakes. After resurfacing, the car should brake fine.

'07 Sonata Limited- Driver's S/V mirror by sportscoupe

My wife had a slight misjudgement pulling her '07 Sonata Limited into our garage and struck the driver's side S/V mirror. The mirror didn't break but it but the plastic piece where it attaches to the drivers window cracked and the plastic housing of the mirror separated from the mount. Is there any fix for this or must the whole assembly be replaced? If so, is it difficult to do or must it be done by Hyundai service? Appreciate any input by anyone who has had a similar problem with the side view mirror.

I would think the housing could be replaced. You might be able to use the guts out of your broken one. Is there a local trim shop near you? The ones that put on window tinting and such? You might stop in and just ask them how hard it is to do. They may even quote you a reasonable price to do it if you provide the mirror/casing. If it's easy you might just get out of it with a case of beer and $20.00. Now that would be nice.

Sportscoupe, this is slightly off-topic but here is my recent experience. I also made a "slight misjudgement" with my '07 Sonata Limited, and backed into an external-mounted rear tire on a Jeep CJ. Hit it just enough to crack a rear taillight lens. No body damage, nothing luckily except the lens broke into about 5 pieces. Went to my friendly Hyundai dealer and found out they don't sell just the lens, had to buy the entire tailight assembly. List was $157.00, they gave me their "cost' which was $125.00 plus tax. Just for a $5.00 piece of plastic lens! Not really blaming hyundai, as most vehicles are the same way. If I had to do it over again I think I would have prowled the salvage yards for an 06/07 part... Good luck with the mirror!

'07 Sonata Limited- Driver's S/V mirror -follow-up by sportscoupe

Thanks everyone for your input. Went over to Hyundai parts dep't. and as suspected mirror is sold in one piece with assembly. Lucked out because they had one mirror in stock that was ordered and then canceled and were able to give me a 20% discount that came out ot $140 plus tax. Now it has to be painted to match the car and installed. They sent me to their body shop where they will do it for $50. I guess they felt a little sorry for me since the car is only a week old. Other than this slight mishap it seems like a great car so far.

Shape up or ship out seems to be the message that Hyundai is sending to 50 of its worst performing dealers. Automotive News is reporting that Hyundai Motor America COO Steve Wilhite sent a "strongly worded" letter to 50 'chronic underachievers.' Poor sales and customer service is at the heart of Wilhite's threats: "We're giving them six months to correct the mistakes. If they can, we're thrilled to have them. If they can't, we want them to turn in their franchises

stuck doorlock after unlocking with door key by de1029

Help. This is scary and happened earlier today and I remember it happening once before...over a year ago.
I insert the door key into the door lock. Turn the key and hear the mechanism (gears?) working but the door will not open. After about a solid 5 minutes it became unstuck (?) and opened. Naturally I tried it again and again afterwards (leaving one back door open).
Any ideas? Need more information?
Remainder of shopping trips I left the door unlocked. Then got brave and locked it and all seems ok now. But...not a way to live! What will tomorrow morning bring...when I go to try and open the door???
TIA,
Joe
