Hi everyone, I was wondering as to why the prices don't go back any farther than 1981 in some of the books. I have been trying to research the price of a 1973 Chevy van, that is a 1 ton, cargo van. But it seems as if no one knows what it would be worth. Any idea's as to finding the price??? Thanks for any and all help.

What would a reasonable discount from invoice be for a demo car with 4,000 miles on it? I saw a loaded 2001 GC ES for $2k under dealer invoice. I looked through the used car prices, but nothing seems to point to cars with this type of low milage.

Introduction - 2001 Astro owner - snow tires? by jcastine

Hi,

Joseph here. New to list. 54 year old school teacher, 4 years from possible retirement.
I just bought a 2001 Astro passenger van. I like it. Going to tow a TT eventually but now I'm worried about winter and a trip from new York City where I live to Toronto. Right through snow country. I used to live (12years) in New Hampshire and have always had a front wheel drive car (my last rear wheeler was a VW Bus, also good in snow). So what can I expect from the astro??? Should I get four snow tires??? Currently have P2 15/75R all season radials which came with vehicle.

Hello fellow vaners. I own a 96 Ford conversion van, I really enjoy. The only problem I've had is brakes ABSSecond ford I've had brake problems with. anyway the pedal is mushy it stops ok but i Ion't feel happy about it. They changed the hcu in the abs because the light came on been back many times, dealer tells me its fixed, but it's not, you know the routine I'm sure. I've been back 5 times and get the same run around, tried another dealer, same thing. I'm ready to try bleeding brakes myself. I'm an old wrenchead, so i Inow how to bleed regular brakes. Can I handle this or is special equipment needed thanks: Leo

Hello everyone. I have owned a Plymouth Valiant (excellent), Dodge Dart (lemon), Plymouth Volare (poor), Rabbit (excellent), Subaru Chaser (excellent), Subaru Loyale wagon (very good) and I am now shopping for a small van for my family. It has to be German or Japanese because they are the best for being able to save up for the next car and not have to spend that money on repairs. So far I am finding it frustrating because I can't find what I want. Safety, reliability, and practicality at an economical price! It seems that even the Japanese vans are made for the North American market Stuff like entertainment systems, air conditioning, plush seats and electric everything add unneccessary expenses to the price of the van, and I cannot get a bare bones model anywhere.

Hello, my user name is miata94. That probably makes it clear as far as what I'm driving. I'm looking for a van for its practicality. I really don't feel like driving an SUV just for its "image". I just need something that hauls me and my friends to paintball games.

So far, my top choices are the Dodge Caravan and the Mazda MPV.

well, welcome here! I'm sure you'll find plenty of opinions on your models of choice. Before you buy, you might want to make a stop on the Smart Shopper boards as well.

Looking for info on transmission fluid leaks in 2000 Chrysler T&C vans. Anyone else out there had this problem? Also looking for anyone who has had experience w/Chrysler collecting under the Lemon Law. We're on our 4th and final attempt to repair the leak.
