Hi, congrats on the new van and hope you are enjoying it. We live in Lake Zurich, IL and just got a quote from a dealer for a 2007 Honda Ody EX-L with DVD - slate green with olive interior. He's asking for 27,900 (cash) or 30,499 with 3.9% financing. For a 2008 Toyota Sienna LE-8 psngr with pkgs FE, AL, QF, CF and RL, silver exterior, for $25,160 plus $58.48 documentation fee, sales tax, registration fee of $143 and county fee of $15. Based on what I've read, this is a pretty good price although the invoice value is $24,865. Your thoughts on the price and this vs. the 07 Ody mentioned above? We intend asking them for the price of an 08 Sienna model with the UL pkg in addition to the pkgs quoted to do an apple-to-apple comparison with the 2007 Ody. As you mentioned in one of your posts, this is not a good time to get an 08 Sienna, hence, the trepidation even though the price seems good. My questions: 1. Is that a good price for the 2007 Ody? Edmunds lists it at $29,190 with a DVD system. 2. Your thoughts on the price for the 2008 Sienna. 3. How does the 2008 Sienna price compare to the 07 Ody mentioned above? We intend asking them for the price of an 08 Sienna model with the UL pkg in addition to the pkgs quoted to do an apple-to-apple comparison with the 2007 Ody. 4. If we get the same pricing for the 07 Ody and the 08 Sienna (Ody - EX-L with DVD and Sienna - LE with pkgs - FE, QF, RL, UL and CF, and if we like the drives for both cars, which would be your recommendation? 5. Lastly,in one of your posts, you mentioned you got an aftermarket dvd system. How much is something like that and what would be the cost (incl. install)? I hope this is not much of a bother - we would really value your input! Cheers, Sherylann

Ody can be a better deal but I would shop around more, because I think you can knock another grand off Honda's price right now. 4. For the same price, get a 2008. It's one model year newer and will boost resale. 5. I got a Jensen 12.1" DVD system, fully installed, from Circuit City for $900. That was a special sale, now they're $999. Smaller screens are even less. It's not fully integrated but that was OK with us.

| I have 2003 Sienna and I need to change the starter. I feel that I could change the starter granted I can get to it. My question is- where exactly is the starter, there is so much other parts in the way. Is the starter easier to access from the top or bottom and is there a lot of other parts to remove to get to it. | |
| Years ago I was a reader of this group as a Windstar owner. After wandering away for a few years, I'm back. Now I am the owner of a 2005 Saturn Relay. It's good to be back | |

My niece is pregnant with her 3rd child and wants a 4th. She will soon need to buy a larger vehicle to accommodate 3-4 car seats. What type of vehicle would you recommend... SUV? minivan? Something else? I am concerned about safety first then costs (initial and operating). Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Minivans will accomodate the 6 of you and the stroller, port-a-crib, diaper bag, back pack carrier, baby bath tub, tricycle, etc. Power doors are awesome, so I recommend those. When the kids fall asleep and you have to carry them to bed, you just press a button to close them behind you. As a class they tend to score well for safety. This 40mph crash test conducted by the IIHS doesn't even penetrate the passenger cabin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqj2jloxTgc |

Hi, I've been using edmunds alot during our current search for a mini van. We're about a month into the process and have narrowed it down to either the Odyssey ex-L or Sienna XLE. I'm getting fairly comparable offers (little lower for the Honda actually) for each but with the Sienna I'd use the 36 month 0% financing.
