Hello all, I'm buying a new CR-V next week - my first new Honda purchase ever. I was going through the Honda accessories list and hoping to buy some of them with the purchase so they can be covered under warranty. Trying to understand how I can get the best deal on these. Here are a few questions I have. - Do they normally charge MSRP for the accessory itself or can you easily get a discount off MSRP - How do you prevent getting hammered on installation by Honda? Would the dealer have a standard price list for installation? - If I buy accessories from people outside of Honda (e.g., online) or have them installed by third-parties, does this harm my coverage under Honda warranty? - How do you make sure the body shop will do a good job putting in the Honda accessories? How can you find out how experienced they are? Thanks for your help! |

From reading the posts it seems you can save quite a bit ordering accessories on line and having them installed by an independent body shop (instead of Honda dealer), especially for people who are not do-it-your-self types. Can anyone recommend a body shop skilled in New Jersey skilled at installing Honda accessories? Thanks! |

I am thinking of buying an OEM roof rack and bike rack for my 97 CR-V. I was wondering if anyone has bought any of the two before and if they are easy to install?
