5 dr with ABS/trac. control by dimdem

I want a 5 dr Elantra with the ABS/traction control package. I'd be happy with either a GLS with package 4 or a GT with package 8, if the price was right. Two questions:
1. How rare on these things? I've called a couple of dealerships, neither had any in stock. One had two 5 drs, for example, but neither with ABS/traction control.
2. I'm in SE VA, the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area. I see above that someone in Northern VA got a GT with package 8 for 13800 OTD. That sounds like an incredible deal. Anyone want to hazard a guess about how close I can get to that in my area?

Something for you to think about... have you called dealers in Northern VA about a car with ABS? It's not that far away. Dealers in the Midwest will ship a car from a dealer 200-250 miles away (for a small fee) in order to get a sale--maybe a dealer in SE VA can do that for you?

Looking to buy GT in Phoenix by rayne

I'm in Phoenix, and am looking at buying an automatic GT over the weekend and finally trading in my very tired 1995 Saturn. I was quoted $12868 for the GT from Bell Hyundai and am wondering if that is a truly good deal. That doesn't include the taxes, title, etc but DOES include the rebate. I'm also considering the moonroof... but am not sure about that yet. Anyone in Phoenix, can you tell me if that's a good deal and what to expect the taxes, title etc to be? It's been 10 years since I've bought a car, so I honestly can't remember what the fees added up to be.
Thanks!

That looks like a great price (some folks are paying more for GLS models.)
I got my GT 5 sp w/ ABS and moonroof for 12,900 (b4 tax and license). I've looked over these posts and our price seems like a good deal.
You are going to love this car.
Good luck,
Tim

I think the important thing is that you were pleased with the deal.

Try Fairfax Hyundai, as stated in a beginning of the this month post I bought a GT Elantra Hatch 5spd Loaded 13,700 OTD, They are one of the top selling Hyundai dealerships in th US only 2hrs from you, I drove 3 for mine. Call them up and tell them what you want and that you are ready to buy now if the price is right, but dont give up on your local dealership, let them know what you have been offered, giving them a chance will make you feel better when getting serviced at there dealership. I have just reached 1,000 miles on mine and am loving it except my wife has taken it over. 30 mpg city and 40mpg highway-and not yet broken in-we just love watching the trip mpg meter, It makes me slow down and focus on getting the best MPG.

That is probably good advice, but that car must be a lot faster than I realize if it can get you from Fairfax to Hampton Roads in 2 hours, LOL. 2 hours MIGHT get you from here to Fredericksburg. When you got the $13,700 OTD, did you have a customer loyalty rebate included in that?

So did the Elantra really just not have the pep for the freeway? I don't do much freeway driving, but some. (Part of the reason for the new car is the fact that I'll need to do a little more than I do now, and I don't completely trust my 15 year old Volvo.) My wife has an '03 Sonata with the V6, so of course it has plenty of get up and go, butshe does more highway driving. Since I have the loyalty rebate, I'd be OTD for under $13K if I got your deal.
