Central Auto Group in Plainfield CT has about 30 new 08 GLS, automatic with popular equipment package that they are listing on ebay for $12,500 which includes document fee. They auctioned one last week which went for $12,150 and the reserve price on the auction was $12,000. At that price you can afford to pay for shipping considerable distance and they are listing several out of state sales, as far as California.

the ebay ad says the doc fee is not included. How much is the doc fee? Is that negotiable?

The doc fee is included in the price. They are listing at $12500 including the doc fee but you might be able to negotiate down to $12000, since this is their auction reserve price. They are also offering $500 active military discount in addition. Can't beat that.

Yesterday I got another call from a hyundai dealer who said they were offering new 2008 Elantra's that were used as demo cars with a $4000 rebate, but I am afraid to ask what the total cost would have been with tax and fees since I already bought mine on Saturday!..

Thanks for pointing to this dealer. The doc fee is NOT included in $12500. I just bought Elantra from Central Auto Group in CT. The deal advertised on ebay 12500 + 399 Doc fee.
I was able to get them down to following deal:
I had to finance through Hyundai to get the deal.
Doc fee $399
Free floor mats + Free trunk mat
Tax + Title + Reg fees (all standard fees)
They tacked on $75 loan initiation fee, otherwise you can pay off the loan in 2 month with no prepayment penalty. The interest rate was 8.5%.
good luck guys,

For the first car they advertised on ebay, the doc fees were included, for the second car they weren't. The second car didn't sell - highest bid was $11000 and I think the reserve is $12000. Anyway they are obviously willing to deal around the $12000 mark including fees so it is a great price while they still have vehicles to sell.

Hyundai California dealer in city of Roseville- March 31 deal struck: 2008 Elantra GLS with Popular Equip pkg including pwr sunroof : $16,100 minus $2,750 rebates = $13,350 (I believe rebate consisted of $1,500 general rebate, $500 owner loyalty, and $750 for finance with Hyundai 4.9% for 5yrs) + $55 doc fees + $199 dmv licensing fees (standard), +$1171 sales tax (7.25% calif tax); no money down other than rebates applied to down. They had several other 2008's to get rid of still.
