Worse if your trade is worth a lot more than 1100. Thought you had a great deal there until I saw it was an 08 instead of 09. Happy Drivin --jjf Yesterday I got an 08 elantra GLS (pzev) -automatic -carbon grey -popular equipment package -cargo mat -bluetooth for 12,502 OTD I felt like I got a good deal, am I wrong? PS I am in the boston area trade/tax title etc basically offset each other exactly |

.....today in southern Ohio for 15,900 OTD with no trade. Sticker was 17,040 so I think I did OK. Has the popular equipment package. The price was 14,600 before 7% tax, and fees. They still had 4-5 '08s in stock as of this morning, but with the great spring weather, there were many buyers in the showroom, and I think they unloaded most of them today. We were "this close" to buying a corollla, but, ultimately, the $2K price gap swayed us to the Elantra. The OTD price for the corolla was 17,900. After test-driving both cars, it is my opinion that the elantra is a less "refined" car, but still a very good one.

| I am starting to get at my wits end!. I want to purchase a 2008 Elantra GLS and was offered what I feel is a fair price (based on Edmunds TMV). .SECOND offer was for 12,988 (incentive and rebate included) plus tax and tags (no trade in) for the 2008 GLS. When I first spoke to the salesman (on the phone) he quoted me 13,361 OTD. So after he told me that price I realized THAT was a great offer and then when I talked to him again and he told me 12,988 because I didn't qualify for the active military and college grad (no kidding , I am a 55 yr old grandmother) and we already discussed how much of an incentive I was qualified for during our first conversation. Do you think I have some negotiating power here? Could he have seriously made a mistake when he quoted me the first price? (in my area a 2008 Elantra GLS automatic, basic features is 13,101 plus tax and tags. Please help!! Thanks so much | |
