Dealership Keyes Van Nuys, CA offered 2009 Huindai Elantra with MSRP over 17,xxx for 4,000 less. I inquired about lease. The offer for 36 months lease was with $500 down 260/month, and with $1,500 down $228/month (taxes included).
With these numbers the interest rate was about 8.88% (according to lease calculator)

We tried very hard last month to get this car for our daughter and they wouldn't budge from their $15.8 price so we got a '09 Versa SL hatch with the ABS, sill plates & splash guards for $15.6 and she's much happier. After we told them what we were on the verge of doing in respects to the Versa and what we were offered, they still wouldn't budge...so we bought the Versa. They called two more times after we bought even though they already had lost the sale. This was six weeks after we had bought an Accent from them. Would've figured that it would've been smarter to give us our price & move another unit. But for $200.00 they held to their guns. Silly general manager!

In a city 30 miles away from Boston.

I think this is an OK deal. This car is base + auto + popular option + trunk net.

I don't like the idea that there is no floor mat, and I have to finance with them for at least 3 month at 8.34% rate.

Floor mats are an accessory that can be purchased at any Hyundai dealer, or you might also find OEM mats via eBay, or custom mats from a variety of places--or plain mats from a discount or auto parts store.

Paid EXACTLY $15,000 for a NEW 2008 Hyundai Elantra GLS. According to Edmunds I did 'OK'. Tried to go lower but...didn't quite work out. Satisfied though at the $15000 figure.
