The real price of Elantras appears to have increased since June, due to higher demand. This may be changing due to the slump in the industry.

However, Towne is presntly offering Elantra GLS at $1500 under invoice (their invoice price includes destination and matches with the invoice price shown on Edmunds) and the standard $1,000 rebate.

Edmunds lists the invoice for GLS with A/T and popular equip (without sunroof) and floor mats at $16,892. So Towne's price would be $14,493 plus doc fee (which is $189 unless it recently changed) plus registration and your state's sales tax.

Check their web site and if interested call them to confirm prices. They are straight forward and will tell you all components of OTD price.

08 Elantra SE Manual Price by oldermom

HI! I am about to purchase an 08 Elantra SE with Manual for 14,900. That does not include taxes or dealer fee of $300. Do you think this is a good deal? I did at first but I saw on Fairfax Hyundai that you can get a Sonata GLS Manual for about $13,250. Thanks for your help!

That's about $1500 too high IMHO. The delivered price with the A/T should be at or under $15K.

Given the popularity and rarity of the 2008 Elantra SE, that may be about as good as you can get at this time. My local dealer hasn't had an SE in stock for months. I think the dealer fee is excessive, though, and if you are close to Fairfax Hyundai then you are close to Fitzmall, which had several Elantra SEs in stock as of a couple of days ago, so you might check there to see if you can get a better deal, or for more negotiating power with the other dealer. Have you tried offering this dealer a lower price, and if they say "no" then walk out (at a leisurely pace, maybe sit in your car for awhile) and see if they follow you? If not, it's worth a try.

If you don't mind a larger car, the Sonata GLS is a lot better value right now than the Elantra SE.

You are right the prices have gone up a couple hundred plus the rebate is only 1,000.00 instead of 2,000.00 as it was in June. I ended up getting the Elantra with A/T and popular equip (no sunroof) for 15,400 OTD at Brad Benson. My first Elantra was 13,500 OTD but that included a trade-in (750.00) which I failed to mention in my earlier message. I still ended up paying more for the car than I did in June but the base price the dealer gave me didn't change, just the lack of a trade in and rebate. I contacted Towne and the best they could do was 16,100.00 OTD for the same car. I also contacted two other dealers, one refused to give me a price unless I came in the other was slightly above Towne.

I'm looking to buy a 08 Elentra tommorow and wanted to know if this is a good price. It's a blue 08 Elentra GLS w/ popular package and floormats for $17,200 OTD. This is without haggling with the dealer yet and it's with Michigan taxes and $180 documentation fee. What do you think would be a fair price to ask for? He's only got the one blue on on the lot so I'm def gonna buy it but want to get the best price.

If you in the NJ area check out Brad Benson. I ended up paying appx. 15,400.00 OTD for the same car less the floor mats. They had several blue Elantra's on the lot when visited.
