I just bought a 08' Elantra SE PZEV (silver on black) w/ Sunroof and Heated Seats. It also came with Floor mats, Sunroof deflector, Cargo net, Mud flaps, and Wheel Locks. I got the car for $16,500 + tax/new tags, so OTD price was $17,643. I feel like I got a good price b/c these SE's are really hot, and there are not many Hyundai dealerships in Northeast PA. I had to wait for 2 weeks to get this car. This is my first car and plan to keep it for many years until i am done graduate school. I cannot belive that I bought a Hyundai b/c I never liked their cars but in the last few years, hyundai's cars have come along way. This car is very classy and feels so expensive, I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!! |

Quoted 13202 + Fee 349 + Tax & Title for GLS Auto with Popular Pkg. Is that good price? All rebates to dealer. |

Not sure if anyone else experienced this, but a local dealer in the Chicagoland area just received about 19 more Elantras- all GLSs though. Interesting how they received more when many have said nothing more until 09s- maybe just no more SEs.

| Thinking about buying an 08 SE and after following some of the chatter on the board and, after looking at dealer inventory in my area (and contacting a couple dealers), it seems like SE's are in short supply. I want to see if this impression is correct (or if dealers are just trying to put pressure on consumers) or if others have had this experience. Like ez888, I'd be willing to put down a deposit, but really don't want to. Just looking for other's opinions on this. | |

Replying to: wide1 (Jul 10, 2008 9:51 am) As far as pricing, go online and check out where the nearest hyundai dealerships are at and ask for a quote on a Elantra SE w/ whatever opions/colors you wanted. I only wanted sliver or gray and it had to have the sunroof(that was a deal breaker). Once you start getting quotes, look for the best and tell the dealer that you have other lower quotes from other dealerships and ask if they can go below or match. The dealership i bought my car from asked me what is a good number so "we could have your business", lucky they agreed with my price the first time. i was very suprised and this was also the closest hyundai dealship to me, so it worked at very nice. Also ask for the "out the door" pricing cause some dealer will charge you a doc fee/dealer fee and that could be a few hundred dollars. if they dont have any SE's on the lot asked them to get you one. I had all the numbers worked out before they actually got me the car. And yes, i got it below invoice, check out Edmunds TrueMarketValue(TMV). |
