07 Elantra GLS for $16,780??? by sammy2007

I am begging for the information about the price of this car. I'm in Madison, WI and I received the quote that 07 Elantra (red) GLS is 16,780 which is including destination charged ($595) and detailed service fee ($120). So, the final price $15,252 after the rebate. It is not OTD, though.

Since I was communicating on the phone and email, that is the only information I know. I was surprised by this price which is a lot more than I expected. May be it is because of the package. When I asked to the dealer, she said that it has a air conditiong and CD player. But, still isn't is too much? If the sales tax and titling fee are added, OTD will be increased a lot.

I read many postings that people buy this model under OTD of 15,000. Would you guys please give me information????

07 Elantra GLS auto w/pref package for 11,843 by simm

I was curious to think what people thought about the deal I just got. I purchsed a 07 elantra (white) automatic with the preferred package but no xm. Here is the break down:

14,843-2,000 rebate-500 military rebate-500 because the vehicle had 493 miles on it=11,843 plus tax, lisc. The car is brand new but is a wash out. A person previously tried to purchase the vehicle but could not get financing so they had to give it back. DMV recongnizes it as a used because a person was in the process of purchasing it but hyundai recongnizes it as new and I got all the new car rebates with the new car warranty and financing. The reason why no xm is because it was an earlier 07 model that did not have xm available at that time. Let me know what you think. Thanks

That seems like a high price for a '07 GLS with A/C and CD as the only options. (You didn't say it has an automatic so I'm assuming it doesn't.) If that's the best you can do, if I were you I'd make some calls or send emails to dealers in Milwaukee and NW Chicago to see what what kind of deal they might give you. Even if you don't want to drive all the way down there, you could use their pricing as leverage in Madison.

Also, what is the "detailed service fee" for?

I recently bought a Hyundai Elantra 2007, gls automatic transmission, preferred package for $15,400 with carpet mats, OTD price, including taxes and other fees. I live in California and got the 2,000 factory rebate. I'm wondering what you guys think. Did I pay too much and what should I do to get a better price next time. I did research, contacted several dealers to get quotes, and other tips such as having written offers from other dealers and shopping around. i could have shopped more but gsettle for that price. please let me know what u guys think. By the way, how do I check when the car was manufactured?

I really like the XM option and i'm debating whether I will keep it after the 3 months.

Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate. It is automatic. Since there is no other competitior in Madison, consumers do not have many options...

I asked the dealer what kind of package it has as well as what is detailed service fee is. But I did not receive answer yet....

I might wait for another months to get information. Thanks again!

The manufacture date is on a plate attached to the driver's door sill/A pillar (I don't remember which off-hand).

2007 Elantra GLS Auto w/XM $12,998 ($14,996) O.T.D. by jewlzfire

I just bought my Elantra on Friday 9/28/07 in Roseville, CA. When I first arrived at the dealership I was hoping to get an SE but there were none with the colors I wanted. So, I got a GLS and the added alloy wheels and window tinting included in the above OTD price. I also got a cargo net and floor mats...not sure if that is standard or not so I thought it was worth mentioning. They did, however, get me to buy the extended warranty for $1995 and their gap insurance. These are not included in the above OTD price I listed since they aren't part of the cost of the car. I'm thinking I got taken on the extended warranty and the gap insurance but I have 30 days to cancel the warranty if I want to...not sure about the gap insurance. But, I am very happy with the vehicle and the price I got with the little extras to make it as close to the SE as possible.

So, any feedback you can offer would be wonderful so I can make a decision on whether to cancel those items.

Thanks!

The extended warranty price seems high, although you didn't say how much just the warranty cost. You could shop around at other dealers for the warranty (assuming it's a Hyundai extended warranty) and if you find a better price, cancel the other one. You can buy the Hyundai extended warranty from any Hyundai dealer.
