Thanks for the info, I haven't been able to get any type of rates from them. I am getting my dad to cosign for me so I can get a decent rate, but I think I will try to eschew the financing through the dealer if that's the kind of interest rate I am looking at.

Well I have been talking to the guy over the phone who has what I want, and I think I am looking at around 15000 OTD for GLS manual with preferred, it's not as good as what I have seen some people post but I think that is a fair price and what I am going to go with, other OTD's I have been quoted around here are all around 16200 (that being the lowest) but those are for auto's, so I am probably going to pick that up on Monday

you have to take some people's price with a grain of salt. Some have bought from huge mega dealerships that actually are selling the cars for a loss, but only to make their monthly quota to get money from hyundai. If you aren't close to one, don't expect 3-4k off these cars. the car you are looking at stickers for 15,700, and with the 1000 rebate you are doing very good to get OTD for 15. Includeing the holdback on the gls manual elantra, there is only about 600-700 in markup on the car.

No one ever said if this is a good deal...
Also
Warranty is 5 years 60000 miles bumper to bumper and 10years 100000 miles powertrain
Is there an additional warranty I should get?

I think what might help is if you broke down the price, as you know tax rates vary as do other associated fees. They do have additional warranties you can purchase but my understanding is that the price has gone up on them quite a bit

Yeah, that's pretty much what I have been thinking, I am comfortable with them making their 4-5% on the car and it's going to be right under my optimal monthly payment with room to put more toward the principle as I go on. Thanks for the feedback, I wish I was buying it today, I have to wait till Monday... I have never had a car less than six years old, and nothing reliable at all so this is going to be a pretty big upgrade haha (driving an 89 olds right now)

If you want additional peace of mind you can get the Hyundai extended warranty, which extends bumper-to-bumper coverage to 10 years/100k miles and is transferrable. Be sure to shop around though if you want that--you can get it from any dealer. I found about $300 difference in quotes when I looked into it for my Elantra a few years ago (I decided not to get it though).

i doubt they are making even that much with this price, but if you are comfortable with that price, then go for it. holdback is around 2%, and they have to be giving some, if not all of it at the price quote.

thanks for the info! So I can buy the car - have the basic warranty and shop around for the extended warranty?
