I'm going to be buying an 07' Elantra in the next week or so, looking for the GLS with pop package, I read through this and have seen people get it for 14400 or 14200 OTD. So far the only place that has gotten back to me has had a list price of 15700 or so. I am a recent college grad and thinking about using that rebate as well (as long as I get the interest rate around 5%) so should I be trying to get it for around 14000 OTD or is that too low? I figure 1400 in incentives, the Sales Tax here is 5%, I am definitely not going to go over 14500 OTD at this point though, especially considering I am looking for a manual and not an Auto. I guess that 14400 OTD was with an auto? The person didn't say. I really don't want to wait any longer but I guess if I think I can get it for under 14000 OTD it would be worth waiting. Any advice or thoughts on if I should be able to get 14000 OTD or what would be a reasonable price down here? There are 3 dealerships within about 60-100 miles that I am trying to deal with, it seems most of them just carry the auto with GLS so I may have to settle for that. Also any advice on negotiating or how to deal with the dealer as far as getting them to throw in extras like mats and stuff would be greatly appreciated, not important but I see people getting that thrown in and stuff, I guess it just depends on the dealer.

so the car I am getting has xm - and carpeted floor mats (rte. 22 - Maxon Hyundai) Elantra SE w/ XM - in seattle blue w/ gray interior - $16100 out the door. Is this a good deal? This will be my first car and I am really excited - just nervous that I will get a bad deal. Also nervous because one of the dealers in Wayne told me that the SE doesn't come w/ AC standard - that it is an additional package - but on Hyundai it lists it as part of the SE - so I don't understand. I know the one I am getting has it - but worried that I might be missing something if it is all packaged separately. I have been emailing around and Jersey City said they couldn't go that low or lower - One in upstate NY said they would get back to me but didn't think they could beat it

Maybe the guys you saw thought you were just out "looking" and didn't take you seriously (not that that would have been an excuse). If you do that, I think you'll have a completely different experience...but I could be wrong. Give it a try, make a phone call, you have nothing to lose. |

From what i have researched about the college grad money, hyundai will put you in their B tier credit rating (providing you have great credit) and the rate will start close to 10%.

Well I have been talking to the guy over the phone who has what I want, and I think I am looking at around 15000 OTD for GLS manual with preferred, it's not as good as what I have seen some people post but I think that is a fair price and what I am going to go with, other OTD's I have been quoted around here are all around 16200 (that being the lowest) but those are for auto's, so I am probably going to pick that up on Monday
