One month later and I am still looking half heartedly for a Elantra gl pkg3, I see all the great deals in other states and are so amazed that the Rochester NY is so determined to keep prices so high. The best deal I got was 15,900 OTD with financing or 16,400 cash. I guess I will have to visit an other state, because I can't remember ever being paid 120.00 an HOUR to drive 10 hours round trip. Have been to Vision got yelled at by the salesman for bringing in internet information, Fuccillo we shook hands on a price and one hour later was 2000.00 higher.

Is that before tax, license and fees or out-the-door? If it's out the door that's pretty good, especially if it has XM radio. Unless you are in CA with its $2000 rebate, then it's not as good. More details would be helpful.

It is before taxes license and fees. And in NJ. I am getting other offers though so we shall see. What would be a good offer? I didn't want the XM radio. Though it is nice - I really don't want to pay for it.

I was there on Saturday - walked in w/ my friend and the sales men looked at us - looked at each other and ignored us and just kept talking. They were so rude to me I would never go back there again. Even asking my friend (while I was sitting in the drivers seat and they were standing outside) who the car was for! Hello - I was the one sitting in it and had said it was for me!

2 different dealers in NJ:
(rte. 22) Elantra SE - in color I want - $16345 OTD
(Jersey City) Elantra SE - in pretty gray - $16300 OTD and he will include a remote starter.
Both include the 4 year vehicle registration which apparently is now required in NJ.
They are both really nice dealers.

Assuming these are base SEs (stick shift, no options) and the price before taxes, license, and fees is about $14,500, that's a pretty good deal but not great, given that there's a $1000 rebate and these are '07 models. The 2nd deal is obviously better given you like the color and it comes with a remote starter, for less money. If the car doesn't include mats, ask them to throw those into the deal at least--they're $85 list and you'll want them come winter.
Even if you don't want XM radio, there's two benefits to having it: 1) without it, you get an ugly (IMO) fixed stick antenna on the rear fender, instead of the little bump on the rear of the roof; 2) the next owner of the car may want XM, increasing the resale value.
