Dealers often get incentives we don't see. This was a volume dealer (37 Elantras on the lot last weekend), so we made that point as I wrote on offer on scrap paper and signed my name. Using prices from other dealers can help...www.autofairhyundai.com Click on "Specials" at the top right. Use those prices as a starting point with your dealer. |

I got my wife a good deal(I think) on a black elantra SE with the black interior. We paid 15,600 OTD including taxes and fees. At Maxon in Union NJ. They are advertising a 4,000 discount on any trade in, in any condition. We traded in her 2007 Saturn S2 w/o a radio(stolen) or a rear window(broken to take the radio). She's happy with it so, I'm happy.

| I bought an Elantra GLS with preferred pkg #3, floor mats and mud guards for OTD price of $14,000 in a Northern Virginia dealer. Did all negotiations via internet/email - very smooth transaction. I bought in the last week of July. There was a $1000 rebate from Hyundai. | |

The current $1000 rebate on the Elantra ends on 09/04. Anyone know whether it'll be upped? I'm wondering whether I should try to buy at the end of this month or wait to see if the rebate goes up and buy then.

| scan a copy of your buyer's order and post it here for us to see. This is the only way to know your TRUE price paid. | |

Replying to: alamocity (Aug 21, 2007 2:17 pm) Or another set of special circumstances... the buyer qualifies for all rebates (currently $1900-2900 on the Elantra depending on location), gets a great discount, and maybe a special "rebate" or two from the dealer, e.g. a "loyalty" rebate for customers of the dealership or other such thing. Or maybe a one-only loss leader special, and you are the one to get there early and get the car. But these are not everyday circumstances that every buyer can take advantage of. |

Replying to: alamocity (Aug 21, 2007 2:17 pm) the dealership would also have to sell the car for a LOSS, not just give up the holdback and ad fee.
