| I took my liberty on I-84 today and the return trip home features a 3 mile uphill mountain climb. you know, the kind where semi's can only be in the right lane cause they can only make 40-45 mph? keeping your post in mind, I started up the hill & after about 1/2 mile, backed off the gas (I was doing 65 at the time and holding that nicely). I took it down to 50 then put the gas on to try to kick in the lower gear. It worked fine. I got back up to 65 & kept it there. This in 2wd & with the a/c on. | |

| I want to see how this jeep turns out. My sisters and a good friend had Cherokees that had bad oil leaks that never could seem to get fixed. I know this is a different vehicle but just want to make sure there are not a disproportionate number of horror stories like the JGC. I like the Liberty and want to purchase one but will bide my time. | |
| If you have been getting 16 to 18mpg you're doing great. My average for in city driving is 13mpg and highway has been 15mpg (with combined ac usage). | |
| You mean besides the independent front suspension? | |
| Just purchased a new LTD Liberty two weeks ago. On the way home from the dealer I tried to roll the window up and the front of the glass tilted down. I had to hold up on the front to get it to shut. Anyway I scheduled to take it in to get it fixed a week later. Also I noticed there was a slight shimmy in the steering which I had them check while it was in the shop. They had found that the window had detached from the front rail and the Jeep was out of alignment. Which I accepted as minor problems--until on the way home from the shop the transmission locked between gears and would not go anywhere. I had to get it towed back to the dealer for repair. They ordered a new transmission to replace the defective one. The Jeep had only 570 miles on it when this happened. Since the Jeep had not been officially registered with the state I demanded a new one, which the dealer did back me up after many phone calls. I received a new Liberty and had it only 4 days and 900 miles today. This time the rear window fell completely off the tracks into the door. Now I have to take the 2nd Jeep in for repair. I feel like I did receive a lemon the first time but is there an excuse for the second one? Maybe I should of went with the RAV-4 instead. | |
| Yikes!! You've got to be kidding! No problems with mine yet (ltd 4x4 off road - 900miles) but I do have a slight shimmy at high speed (tire balancing?) and the car pulls to the right at low speed (possibly due to 4x4?) - haven't taken it off road yet, I'll let you know if the windows fall off the tracks. | |

Got my Liberty 3 weeks ago, and just yesterday I noticed the passenger side floor (front and back) completely soaked. I saw previous posts regarding this problem, but I was wondering if anyone got a "fix" for this problem from their service dept. Thanks for any help. |

| Im glad to see jeep gave u a new vehicle, something honda would not do for me with 1k on my 2001 civic that was a lemon and engin went out. Anyway to have problems like that with 2 different vehicles seems to show a reliabilty problem that probably will be taken care of like the first escapes that had 6 recalls. I waited 7 months out to get an escape and only have minor problems. Im watching this board as i like the look and feel of the liberty. Good Luck. | |

maybe someone can advise me on this as to what it might be - just started yesterday. when braking from 45 to zero to stop at an intersection or stop light, when It gets around 10mph or less, there is a jolt (like a jerking) from the rear end as I continue to slow to a stop. I am in 2wd something that just needs an adjustment? |

| Take to a dealership and get one of the managers/techs to ride with you and recreate the problem. It could be something with the rear suspension, brakes, etc. I'd get it checked out. | |
