This is under a 75,000 mile warranty but the dealership won't cover the engine because we can't prove that we have done the regular oil changes. The oil was sludgey and nasty black. I have read on another site for the cause of sludge and it noted that it could be from a blown head gasket or something to that effect. Any suggestions ? If you have some history in buying DCX vehicles this will help as well.    I have seen this kind of issue before. The thing that comes to my mind is what ever you saved in $ can't be enough to pay for the engine repair, can it? Unless aperson loves to work on vehicles, it can be a mistake. When you do oil changes save your reciept for the oil and filter, and put the mileage on the slip. Save the papers in a folder and thenyou have your proof og keeping the vehicle up. I've been stumped with a similar problem with my 2002 Liberty, and our dealer is having a heck of a time fixing it.      Our AC is ice cold... when it works. While driving it will abruptly stop and start blowing hot air. At the dealer they to replicate the problem but if the car's parked it blows 38 with no problem. It seems like it only occurs when the car's on the road. Does this sound familiar to you?   Thanks,   Tom D
