| I'm in the market for a slightly used 06 or 05 G sedan but notice that prices range considerably not necessarily linked to mileage. Are there different (and 'preferred') pkgs that I should be looking for? Thanks! | |

I've had this wheel wobble sound on the front end of my 2004 6MT, that I can hear from 40 mph on, and in my ears, very audible at 60+. I was initially told it was the tires, had them rotated and balanced, no change. Incidentally, I first really noticed it after my first rotation at 8000. I waited it out, changing tire pressures, having tires rebalanced at an outside tire shop (2 different ones), and at 15K, another tire rotation, but sound still there. At 22k, I had to bring the car in for early brake wear, suspension noise at slow speeds and bumps. Since there, I had them check the noise again, and though they addressed everything else (new front brakes and rotors, new pads rear, changed a compression rod), the wobble / thumping / vibration sound is still there. They checked the tires at my request before and now, but since they couldnt reproduce the sound, or identify it, they stop there. I have the car, and am planning to take a ride with a tech, but would like to be more informed. Are there other areas that could be the culprit? Any other parts of the car, ie shocks, struts? I also read of loose bolts, areas that need to be rewelded? I definitely feel a bit like drawing on straws because I cant seem to communicate this issue. I am concerned that this might be an indication of something big later, or worse, a safety issue now. Can anyone shed some light? Ideas on what its cause? Alignment? Experiencing similar things? Any specific words I should use to communicate better? Anything? Thanks for any advice. |

Replying to: njjuliano (Feb 24, 2007 8:55 pm) I might also be a defective tire. It's not unheard of to have a tire with belts that have moved.

Also, I've read some promising threads (on another forum) about wheel bearings prematurely malfunctioning. The description of the problems definitely mimic mine. A bright light of this very dark, and long tunnel.

Hey all, bringing in my 04 G35 Sedan next week due to squeaky brakes and the 30K service. I've read a lot about both on this site, but do have one question. Is there any document I should bring in to the dealer before they service the breaks so they don't try and charge me for it? Or is that not necessary? Just trying to think ahead. Thanks in advance...

I am interested to hear comments about how the G35 (non-X) goes in the snow. I live outside of Boston where some winter days resemble the north pole. My current car is front wheel drive. Can I get through tough winters with just rear wheel drive?

All, Im planning on buying a 2004 G35 4dr sedan, which has around 45K miles on it. Does this model have any known issues? Also the dealer says this is "Pre"certified for a 10yr/100K warranty. What is the price that i should be paying for this coverage - since this is a used car? Thanks. |

Replying to: njjuliano (Feb 26, 2007 7:47 pm) It is the wheel bearing. How do I know?! Bought new sets of tires three years ago for my old Previa. After a short time I heard and felt exactly wht you described. I switched the tires to the back and the noise dissapeared from the front but slowly reappeared from the back. However because when you drive it everyday, one gets used to it, it took a friend of mine that noticed it and sent me to the repair shop. After three times being in the shop without finding anything, they decided with my approval to remove the back axle. once out, if you turn it by hand slowly, you can find the spot and location of the bad bearing. So it was the bad tire that ruined the bearing and cost about 800 to fix. |
