The price difference between them are $2000 from my research.
The best OTD prices I got are $19,000 for '05 and $21,000 for '06.

The other differences between 2005 and 2006 include: tail light looks ( I personally like 2005 much better! ), engine ( 06 gains 6 hp more than 2005), and daytime running light ( for 06 ).

That's what I know for their differences. Hope it helps!

Actually the 4 cyl. engine has gained about 10 more hp. Honda, along with some other companies are using the new SAE standard for measuring an engines hp. The engine in the 2006 has had upgrades to the intake and exhaust to allow more hp and have the torque peak about 500 rpm lower.

It was Honda Village in Newton, MA. They have $258 doc fee. They didn't have it in stock but managed to get it from another dealership. Bernardi Honda offered $200 less (+198 doc fee).

I had to make the same decision between an '05 and '06 LX Sedan AT in Minneapolis. My choice was easily decided because I was quoted $17,500 for the '05 (incl doc fees + all dealer fees) before tax & registration and $19,400 for the '06. To me the one year upgrade was not worth the $1900 difference. For as long as I plan to keep this car, the resale value for the year difference shouldn't be too different. I may have felt differently if they didn't have the color that I wanted in the '05 but they did and I am very happy with the '05. Even though the design is a year old, I still got a brand new car with 15 miles on it.

Price: 2006 Accord Value Package by jake2006

1) I'm talking to a dealer who is quoting the following for a VP (no options) in the Seattle area:
$18,995 (=MSRP)
Is this a good price? The dealer refuses to go down. Do you folks know of others that paid closer to invoice for 2006 models?

2) Sales tax in our state is 8.8% but this dealer is charging 10.8% citing "state auto tax add-on". Does this sound reasonable to you?

Accord 2006 LX AT on CarsDirect.com by tunku

Hi,
I got a quote of $19,409 from Carsdirect.com for 2006 Accord LX/AT/4-Door Sedan.
Most dealerships that are not dealing with Cardirect.com are quoting about $500 more. Being a first-time buyer, I am wondering if the dealership which Carsdirect.com points me to, for the above price, will make up for the seemingly lower price on Service Agreement, i.e. post-purchase maintenance.
So, I wanted to ask the experts, what is a reasonable service agreement? Any pointers? What is a reasonable price to pay for such maintenance?
I ask, since, the price that Carsdirect.com is promising will cover only Price+Tax+Vehicle Registration + Documentation + Inspection. It will not say anything about after-purchase service.
I have no idea what is reasonable. Please help. Thanks a lot for your time.
Tunku.

I wanted to clarify that the $19,409 price is only the base price, on top of which, there will be the rest, i.e. Tax+Vehicle Registration + Documentation + Inspection.
My post may have been unclear on that.

Thanks a lot.

1) No, from what I have read, you may be able to get a price closer to invoice.
2) "state auto tax add-on"? BS in my opinion
