I just got a 4 cyl auto 2006 EX-Leather (with guards/locks/stripe/door protectors) plus NAV for 24,275...Add to this $515 for destination charges, $100 processing fee, $180 state tags and title and 5% state taxes. While perhaps I could have done a little better, I think I got a pretty good price. You may have been able to get them down maybe a couple of hundred, but you should feel pretty comfortable with the price you just got.

Sirbeeda,

Could you tell us the name of the dealer and where located?

Thanks!

just got internet quotes in Nj on the '06s. AN EX-l 4cyl/5 speed was 23,558 (off of 24,700), and an EX-L V6 6-speed was $26,388 (off of $27,850). Surprised to see a bigger discount on the 6/6 combo though.

3K is a fair bit to pay for essentially a bigger engine and another gear, although there are some other options included (I just can't remember what they are).

Deals On 2006 Accords by richards38

For people asking about how good their deals are, I'd say a good (not necessarily the best, but still favorable) deal would be to take 91% of the total MSRP (including destination). Add to that a maximum of $50 for a "document" fee which is pure profit to the dealer--if the doc fee is higher, negotiate it away on the price of the car. Tax and license fees are extra because the dealer must remit them to government entities.

This was the deal I received on an early '04 Accord EX-L sedan AT after doing plenty of research online. Maybe I could have saved a few dollars buying from an inconvenient dealer, but it would not have been worth the trouble.

If you wait until Xmas week, you'll probably save another $400 to $600. In late Feb., 2006, half way through the '06 model year, you'll probably pay about $750 less. At year-end 2006, you'll pay $1,500 or more less depending on competition, state of the economy, etc. These are the approximate numbers I've seen after following Accord pricing since August, 2003.

Accords do not offer factory options, so anything added on like mud flaps, wheel locks, window etching, etc. usually packs the price because most of this stuff is way overpriced and useless.

If your current deal is 91% of MSRP + $50, you did just fine IMO.

Hope this helps some of you..........Richard

This sounds like a good plan. One caution -- if you wait too long the vehicle you want may not be available. Especially if color matters to you.

Thanks! I feel better. Enjoy your NAV system. I am transistioning from 15 years of driving a V8 SUV. I keep looking down to check my gas gauge and I keep reaching "up" to shift gears on the steering column. I have called my car a "truck" all week and I'm tickled pink that I have a trunk that no on can see into.

Can you tell me if it was auto or stick shift? Also, does the $19500 include tax?

If so, what was your base price before tax?

Color isn't an issue with an '06 because cars will be added to inventory throughout the year. And if your dealer doesn't have the color you want, the dealer can trade with another local dealer. The last 2 cars I bought were traded with another dealer and it created no problem at all.......Richard

Did you get a good deal? How far above invoice was it? I don't have that data in front of me, but a local dealer was running TV ad's "selling" all 2005 Accords at dealer invoice.

Again "but did I get ripped off? The dealer really went out of their way to make it sound like this was the deal of the century. How much over invoice? If more than 500.00 above invoice, you got ripped. With all the data on Edmunds and MSN auto's all the data is out there. Invoice should be max price since it is the end of a model year. Did you do your homework?
