Absolutely not! You got a great car at a price that was more than fair. Most prices people say they paid for in these forums are a joke, and regional differences are rarely considered. Remember, people always claim to pay LESS for their cars than they actually did, just as they claim to have paid MORE for their home. Lastly, I hear no mention of the other factors involved in a car deal like financing/leasing rates, or trade-in values. Who is to say that the dolt who claims to have paid thousands back of invoice didn't also pay a percentage point or two higher than s/he should have or give up $1k in trade value to the dealer? Remember, the buyer and the seller are on the same team with the same goal...if it doesn't make sense for both the deal won't work. Try not to be so adversarial for if price were the only factor then GM would still be on top.

I'd appreciate knowing the names and cities of South Florida Honda dealers where you may have found very discounted pricing.

2006 Accord LX, Tulsa by ygrace

Yesterday I purchased a 2006 Accord LX sedan, 4-cyl, no added options, for $19,500 (including destination) + $69 doc fee. I purchased this car from Joe Marina Honda in Tulsa. I used an "e-mail attack," contacting 20 dealerships in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas.

The dealership was very pleasant to work with. All arrangements were made using e-mail and phone. The car was waiting for me when I arrived, and there were no surprises.

Sale price = $23,401.99
Sales Tax = $1,462.62
Dealer VIT = $58.34
License Fee = $72.30
Inspection and Title Fee = $54.75
Doc Fee = $50.00

Drive out price = $25,100

I got this from Russel&Smith Honda in Houston. The next best offer was from Gillman Honda on Beltway 8 for around $25,350 out the door.

So, did I get a good deal? okay deal? I emailed all the dealers in Houston and its vicinities. I even got a laughable offer of $25,500 + ttl from Baytown Honda.

Hi capt41470,
We get our invoice information from the manufacturer, so we have to wait til it's released to us by them. If you use the "help" link at the very top of this page (it's tiny, I know) and then hit the "contact us" tab, you can submit this question for our pricing team. They'll have the best idea about when to expect this information.

Hey all,

I just bought an 05 Accord LX for $19k OTD here in NJ. I got mine from Joyce Honda. Was wondering if this is a good or decent deal? The car does not have any options installed. Again this is in NJ.

Thanks for your reply.

2006 EX-Leather with appearance package by lisas3

Two days ago I paid $22,900 for a 2006 Accord EX-Leather with the exterior appearance package (mud guards, wheel locks, leather stain resistance something or other). Add to this $515 for destination charges, $100 processing fee, $180 state tags and title and 5% state taxes. I can't change the deal now, but did I get ripped off? The dealer really went out of their way to make it sound like this was the deal of the century.

2005 Accord LX Sedan AT $17,350 by jessguo

Thank you for all the helpful posts here. We finally purchased a LX AT Sedan (no added options) from Honda of Hayward in Bay area, N Cal. The final price we paid is $17350 (including destination fee), plus $300 for the anti-theft system. After high California Sales tax, tire tax....DMV fees, OTD is 19250. The dealer is overstocked with LX and they have all colors available now. However, we don't like the most popular colors; silver and graphite pearl. We picked blue. We highly recommend this dealer. They are 0 pressure, friendly and very professional. Even after the mechanic & service dept had the car detailed, and we signed the contact, 2 fleet/internet sales managers were cleaning our car with rags and spray bottles.

We saw better deals on this board on LX, but we are happy with the price we paid.

One question for all Accord owners, do you guys recommend purchasing Honda Care on our own? What's the difference between Honda Care and the extended warranties provided by some insurance company, like Geico?
