Replying to: passat_mx (May 17, 2005 9:41 am) Also, the dealer told me you can't negotiate the sale price up front, it's based only on the MSRP and then the payments are based on that. But you mentioned a sale price of 17800. Does that mean you can purchase the car at that price minus your total payments? I would like the option to buy the car at a negotiated price not at the MSRP, is this possible? I would love to lease at Thanks in advance.

I e-mailed AutoWest asking for a quote. They came back with $21,086 price for the EX-L 4cyl AT w/out specifics. I e-mailed back asking what was included in this number and what the documentation fee would be, to which they replied it already included the destination and there was a $45 documentation fee on top of that, bringing the price before TTL to $21,131. Meanwhile I called Anderson (I requested a quote by e-mail but they wanted to give it over the phone first and follow up with an e-mail) and they gave me a quote of $21,786 plus $45 documentation, exactly like your quote. When asked him if they would match or beat other area dealers (thanks Phil for the heads up), he said he would beat it by up to $100. I'm just waiting for his quote and the guarantee in writing. I will probably end up at almost the exact price as yours. I wonder if their sales people go through these forums...

Hello to all! First I would like to thank everyone who responded to my gas mileage question concerning the V6. We would also be very interested in anyone's experience in respect to MPG on the EX-L 4cy Accord Sedan. In fact, if anyone else has anymore info to share concerning MPG in either the 4 or 6 cy I am sure allot of people would be interested. Especially in this day and age of the rising fuel cost, please keep the info coming as I think this plays a factor in the buying experience so that is why I am posting this question here. My other request is for anyone in the Central Florida region who has recently purchased either the EX-L 4cy Accord sedan (no navi) or the EX-V6 Accord (no navi) automatic Sedans...what type of pricies have you been paying? The big debate in our house in the 4 or 6 cylinder? We would even be willing to travel a bit to get an outstanding price and would turn the experience into a road trip if need be. One more thing before I go...I think this is an outstanding forum and I know the dealerships out really wish this website didn't exist...it is killing their profit margins. The knowledge I have learned from this website gets me comments from dealerships like "are you in the business?". That is because when I talk to them I know more things about pricing, holdbacks, factory incentives for moving the most units per month, etc... So for everyone out there....I salute you!!! Keep the info flowing!!! Hail to the consumer!!!! Thanks to all in advance for your help and insights!! |

[/UnQUOTE] Your welcome!!! [QUOTE...by joon] I'm just waiting for his quote and the guarantee in writing. I will probably end up at almost the exact price as yours. I wonder if their sales people go through these forums... [/UnQUOTE] I told them that I praised their service and price So they're aware of the above scenario and they (Internet Manager) were still professional, polite, friendly and very well informed about their cars!!! Even the Accounts Manager** was low pressure and friendly!!! All-in-all, ... an excellent car buying experience!!! Yeah, I gave Anderson Honda, Internet Manager & Accounts Manager ALL 5's!!!!!!! I have the feeling that you'll score that super price like I did since whatever Dealer Incentive they had when I bought, ... must still be active!?!? I didn't buy any accessories from the Dealer since you can get them thru the internet for much less!!! **I will wait to buy(!?! - maybe) the Extended Warranty via the Internet during the 3rd year of ownership - still within the 36 month original Honda Warranty. Since May 6, I drove my car for over 320 miles (had 4.5 miles on the odometer when I took delivery off the truck - waited 2-days / break-in = 600 miles), still on my 1st tank of gas that Anderson added and I added the following accessories: 1) Splash Guards - Front & Rear ($39.95 + SH - www.handa-accessories.com) 2) Sunshield Windshield Shade ($18.69 + SH - www.handa-accessories.com) 3) Heavy Rubber Beige Floor Mats ($19.84 + tax - Wal-Mart) 4) Convex Mirror for the Driver side mirror ($2.99 + tax - Kragen) So far, my 2005 Honda Accord 4 cyl. AT PZEV EXL running smooth, quiet (when the XM radio or CD is off) and FUN to DRIVE!!! All my family, friends and co-workers love the Desert Mist Metallic color and Ivory w/burled wood trim interior!!! Have fun spending your hard earned cash, ... looks like you're getting a great deal!!! (like I did!!! Phil 2005 Desert Mist Metallic Honda Accord 4 cyl. AT PZEV EXL Sedan |

Replying to: prince2100 (May 18, 2005 8:14 pm) He negotiated a low selling price... He said this is based on the current lease deal Honda is offering. Basically, honda is offering $199/month with $2500 down, so the dealer worked it out with 600 down. The advertised lease deal gives the dealer a hefty profit.. the dealer told me you can't negotiate the sale price up front, it's based only on the MSRP and then the payments are based on that. The dealer is lying... Find another dealer... print-out his post... Or, copy it down... Take it to a dealer and tell them you will buy today if they give you that deal... But, be willing to pay another $10-$20 per month... He got a fantastic, bottom-dollar deal that you may not be able to get from every dealer. regards, kyfdx |

If the salesperson spends less time on a transaction with you, then he/she has more time to spend selling a vehicle to another customer. kirstie_h Roving Host Host, Future Vehicles & Smart Shopper discussions

Replying to: prince2100 (May 18, 2005 8:14 pm) Try OpenRoad or Jersey Honda (same company, I think). Don't call up and say you want to lease, just get a bottom line price on the car - then do the lease deal. Also try carsdirect.com and put in your ZIP code and see what no-haggle price comes up. The promo lease deal calls for the dealer to sell for $600-700 over invoice and for you to pay $1,500 in cap cost reduction. to drive the price down to the net cap cost of $18,222.24 . With the current dealer money you should be able to get to (or close) this price without ANY money out of pocket. Then if you pay the first payment, security, acquisition fee, and tags/taxes at signing your lease WOULD be $199 a month. In NJ I think 6% tax is due on the price of the car, so that would be a lot out of pocket - or the payments would be higher. You negotiate the price of the car just like you are paying cash, then do the lease at the lowest rate. Dennis |
